1.  Bike messengers
2.  By bicycle
3.  Adrenaline, maybe money,  but mostly adrenaline.
4.  He totally got hit by a car at 6:09!

On that note, don't do anything in the video.  You'll probably die.

I've always thought a bike messenger job would be fun.  Good exercise and paid to do it?  Why not.  The dangerous riding part could easily be eliminated though.

Mr. Brunelle is well known for playing up the danger for his viewers' entertainment. None of the couriers I know ride like this often enough to call it a habit. Movies are not real life.

Ty Dollarbill! <3

I wish I was cool enough to run red lights in the middle of a city in the middle of the day.

It is not about being cool.

Poster above was right, it is all about adrenaline, we all get it different ways.

Wow.

Two comments:

1) What a bunch of assholes, putting other people in danger like that.

2) A friend's daughter participated in one of these races a couple of summers ago.  She is now "recovering" from a TBI.  She'll never hold a job, communicate via her mouth, or live independently again.

That is sad to hear about your daughter's friend, but do note that the participants are fully aware of the dangers when they sign up.

Right.  That part -- whatever.  Adults can make their own decisions.  She was wearing a helmet, too. Didn't help.

The first part, though... I just can't enjoy watching people who do stuff like that without regard for anyone else around them. Adrenaline is one thing, but get it in a way that doesn't put others at risk.

Didn't watch it, but I can imagine what it is...

But on the bike messenger note, this is a pretty sweet retirement "job". A guy in my city who owned one of the best bike shops around "retired" and now works as a bike messenger. He's in his 60s and competed in the Olympics and the Panam Games back in the day. This is one of the things I would like to do when I ER (be a bike messenger, not compete in the Olympics, that is).
