Making a difference in small bits

We talk a lot about how we can change or affect the world we live in, about how sometimes we can only affect the small circle around us.
I'd like you folks to consider a program called KickStarter. It's a way to support small projects all over the place.
I've suported several projects in the past. One was a Pacific Northwest musician and his newest CD.
This is the one I'm watching now. BRIDEGROOM, An American Love Story
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/452010736/bridegroom-an-american-love-story
Here's another, Print on Fabric, Using Sunlight
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/lumi/print-on-fabric-using-sunlight-the-lumi-process?ref=live
And Here's one about planned living in New Mexico
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1677059429/grubstakers-wanted-for-plands-2012-residency-seaso?ref=live
Something to consider, what a change $25 can make.

When used for the right purposes, Kickstarter is really awesome.
I have funded some projects I thought were really cool (mostly indie music/arts related).
Just be careful about what you donate to, as it would be easy abuse it.

Kickstarter sounds similar to 'Pozible' an Australian 'crowd-funding' website. Maybe check for that in NZ. I used it recently to make a small contribution towards a friend's film project.
