Looking for Part Time Preschools in Dallas Texas

My wife and I will likely be moving to Dallas Tx this summer for at least 4 years. By next year we will want to enroll our oldest daughter in a 3-4 preschool program. However like in most cities it is very difficult to cut out the full time day care programs from those offering a more reasonable part time program.

My wife doesn't work so it is totally needless for us to pay for full time care. We just want a program with a solid 2 half days a week of instruction. I know this kind of thing exists but it is hard to find online.

We are looking at living in Plano, Allen or Mckinney. We are open to programs that have parent participation and possibly community organize "preschool" with none of the overpriced frills of a daycare.

Sorry if my tone is really down on daycares, I just always find it annoying that they try to one size fits all every kid into full time programs, which make sense when both parents have to work, but make zero sense when you have a full-time parent at home. And my resentment always boils over when every single "preschool" website is intentionally obtuse about the most import information about programs, which are price and time. With worthless quotes like, "Most parents find that price is second in importance to high quality blah blah blah..." or "To truely experience our program a child needs, <insert reasons to justify 5 day a week daycare>"

Sorry, I can't help with Texas specifically.  I do have a general observation which might pertain to that area as well. There are daycare centers that try to expand by offering preschools, and then there are preschools (attached to school systems) that also offer daycare services for working parents. Look for the ones attached to the schools. My son goes to one that is run by a small Lutheran school. This school has both 2 day per week and 3 days per week options, either morning or afternoon.  Our local school district also has a really nice preschool program, which I  think is only offered for 3 days per week, morning or afternoon.  I think folks that really need full-time daycare are the ones who utilize the preschool programs run by the different daycare centers.

Look at churches and synagogs, especially Lutheran churches. They aren't advertised, but after some digging, I discovered there are THREE Lutheran preschools offering 2 mornings/week and one synagog, all within 5 miles of my house.

It looks like there is a Challenger School in Plano, Texas. My stepdaughter goes to one in our city and I know they have a 2 mornings/week 3-year-old program.
