Looking for Mustachian Neighborhoods in Longmont
« on: October 03, 2017, 03:59:05 PM »
We're looking to move to Longmont, but it seems what was once affordable has become fancy. Any advice on bikable neighborhoods in Longmont that still have some affordable homes? We are a family of 4 looking for something under 500k.

I hadn't looked at Longmont in a while. I lived there from 1991 to 2001.

The little house I bought in 1993 for about $97,000 and sold in 2001 just before the crash for $199,000, is now estimated to be worth $345,000 on Zillow. That's $230/sqft based on finished space. (Only ~1500 of the 1800sqft listed is finished.)

That $345,000 house is a basic tract home! It was vynil and carpet throughout, with beige laminate countertops. The photos from the listing in 2015 indicated nothing much had changed.

The tech growth in the Longmont area must be driving prices up again. If only we knew when that next tech bust would happen!

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
