... don't know if I'd agree.  I've lived for weeks at a time in a tent that had no toilet and only a camping stove.  Plenty of people make tents their year-round, permanent home.
EDIT:  add to that... dorm rooms (my home for 4 years!) and all sorts of other living arrangements where you rely on communal bathrooms.
