A typical dinner out for two of us with alcohol is ~$50 CAD or $39USD. We'll do that once a week. Typically on the weekend.

We'll also typically have one friend night out every week or so at $25 CAD/person.

An $80 USD meal =~$100 CAD. I can't recall the last time we spent that for dinner. Maybe once in 8 years for a special occasion.

There's no excuse for not cooking for one unless you are physically disabled.  NONE.  I work 60-70 hours a week and come home and cook for three.  It's not easier cooking for three, it's harder because I have to deal with picky eaters.  Some days I say "This is what's for dinner. Deal with it or make a sandwich."  One day I crock-pot.  A couple days I saute meat and vegetables and put it on pasta or rice.  Takes 25 min tops.  Sometimes I can convince my S.O. to do the prep work so then it's more of a 15-20 min deal.  Less than half the time it takes to drive somewhere and get take-out.  If you are lazy you will never reach FIRE.  Never.
