My wife and I will be moving in the next 6-9 months and more than likely purchasing our first home. I searched around online and found a lot of rent vs. buy information but not a lot of buy vs. buy information. I was curious about the total cost of owning a more expensive home vs. a cheaper one. I used what excel skills I have and attempted to build a calculator myself. I'm hoping some of you can look at it and give feedback on whether all the costs are accounted for and accounted for correctly. Also, if anyone has a link to something better for comparing the cost of ownership of two houses I would be grateful. Thanks!
