I love Costco, and I am a single person. I live 2 hours away from the nearest one currently, but will soon be moving back to about 10 min away, and am looking forward to it. I have a deep freezer, and tons of storage space, so it really works out for me to stock up when I am in the city, and buy way cheaper groceries than are available in my town.
Here is what I like to buy
- Rotisserie chicken
- Organic raw spinach
- organic raw baby greens
- 10 pound bag of organic carrots
- 20 pounds of onions for like...$4.99
- chicken thighs, breasts, and whole roasting chickens
- organic ground beef
- organic ground turkey
- all sorts of organic frozen veggies and fruits
- laundry detergent, dish soap, paper towels, toilet paper, etc...I hate running out of these things, so having Costco quantities means I only have to think about buying them like...1x a year
- kerrygold butter
- bacon
- 5 pound bags of good coffee
- olives
- artichoke hearts
- organic peanut butter
- organic canned tomatoes, and tomato paste
- 505 green chiles, and green chile sauce
- salsa
- coconut oil, avocado oil, extra virgin olive oil (their price on this is amazing)
- maple syrup
- walnuts, almonds, etc
- spices
I pretty much stock up on all of these things, depending on what I am out of on about a 2-3 month basis. I'm just one person, but none of this stuff goes bad if frozen/stored correctly. I hate grocery shopping, and love having all of the food I need to cook 3 times a day. All of these products work out to be much cheaper than my local grocery stores, plus I run out so infrequently which I like, and it keeps me from having to shop more than 1x a week for fresh produce.
