I need some help choosing a bike trailer
« on: October 28, 2014, 10:13:43 AM »
As the subject suggests, I'm looking for my first bike trailer.  I don't want to spend money on the wrong one and then spend months punching myself in the face for wasting the money.  Unfortunately, my LBS just has child trailers, which is not what I'm looking for, and I'm no good judging how something looks based on a picture.  I'd like to tap all the combined wisdom of this forum for some assistance.

I will be carrying two primary loads: groceries, and my dog.  The grocery store is approximately 1mi from my apartment and the terrain is reasonably flat.  It also goes through a nice park.  The dog will be loaded up to go to the dog park and to the vet.  The dog weighs about 100 pounds.

What I want is a cargo trailer wide enough to install the crate, which is 42"L x 28"W x 30"H.  I've been looking online and so far haven't found anything which meets my needs.  Any suggestions?

The cheapest one you can find on Craigslist (or equivalent) that will meet your needs.  Around here with a little patience (two weeks looking) I found one that would meet your requirements for $20.00.
