I am convinced that I can finally sell my 08 Tundra and not feel like i would be making a huge mistake. I've been on this journey to be better with money starting this year and pay off debt and make better decisions. I bought a 05 Prius 4 months ago and have driven it every day except maybe 5x (drove my  truck, just to use it and get it off the driveway). At first I got in the truck and immediately missed it...the power, the sound system I have in it, the feeling of driving something "cool". The first time i drove it, I was still 50/50 on selling it but the ride gave me a felling I could not get rid of it and moved my ratio of 50/50 to 80/20 (not wanting to sell it)

then a few weeks went by and I drove it again and it was "kinda cool" (down to 70/30 now)
then a few weeks went by and I drove it again and it was "ok" (down to 60/40 now)
then a few more weeks and i realized i didn't even care if I drove my truck anymore
then a few more and that feeling of wanting to drive it had almost left me completely. that was when I decided I could sell this truck tomorrow for $1 and not miss it..I'm over the cool/nice feeling of driving it and it took a hand full of times filling up my prius for $18 and driving and getting 48 mpg.

I will be saving $45 a month on insurance and being able to sell the truck and pay off 80% of my debt...WOW
oh and I dont want to pay the SC registrations fees that are due in 2 weeks..that is motivation too

I think the prius is ugly but I love it. Kind of hard to explain. The truck is pretty but I bought it in a state of mind of wanting something cool. I resent that mentality now.

My crossover moment was selling my modified Jeep Wrangler. After reevaluating my life style and putting the FI plan in motion, I knew i had to sell it. At first I felt sad, then angry, but after warming up to the Nissan Versa I replaced it with, I felt warm and fuzzy, and soon forgot all about the Jeep. After selling the one vehicle I've always wanted, it wasn't hard at all to sell the Harley Davidson soon after.  Those two decisions were huge milestones in this whole new way of thinking about what has REAL value and what is just an inconvenience.
