How to Delete My Threads for Privacy

Quite a few years ago I started a thread or two on getting some help while I was homeless, and while I don't want to go into specifics, I'm in much, much better condition now years later, but see that when I Google my username that specific thread comes up pretty high on the search results list.

This is the one facet of my life that I don't want to be easily searchable since there's too many negative stereotypes about what homeless living entails (foul smells, substance abuse, mental illness, etc.), none of which I conformed to (I've always showered and shaved, held a job, paid my bills; never drank, smoked, or "took" anything).

As such, I'd rather someone learn that I was homeless later rather than sooner about me, so how can I go about getting the threads I started deleted so that they won't appear on Google? That is, if I can, or if I may be accommodated by a moderator.

I checked the FAQ, and it says I should have that function from the Profile tab, but the instructions are outdated for the version.

When I wanted to remove some of my old posts, I went to Profile -> Show Posts and found and deleted them individually.  I don't believe it will let you delete whole threads, just your own responses in them.

Is there any reason you can't change your username? Presumably nobody IRL would search on Benpercent and tie it to your real identify if you don't tell them that's a username you used.

You could also change your username.  "The system" will go back and change all your posts to your new username.  Then you could create a new account.  The only issue is that when you are quoted the quote will show your old username.  Less likely to show up on google I think.
