I'd guess 95% of my posts are in a thread with other posts from me. In other words, an ongoing conversation rather than reading and replying to every topic posted. I use the unreadreplies feature to just show updates to the 5-10 or so active threads that I've posted to.
Less frequently I will scan the unread threads list to see if there is something interesting I want to participate in, at which point it will show up in unreadreplies. There are a few topics that I don't have a good comment on but still read, but likely I'm only following threads where I've commented.
This.
I use this link to see the threads I've replied to that have new responses:
http://forum.mrmoneymustache.com/unreadreplies/And open and read and reply to those a bunch, probably a dozen times a day.
Then once a day (though lately it's been every few days, and awhile back it was multiple times a day), I'll skim all the unread posts:
http://forum.mrmoneymustache.com/unread/?all;start=0I'll go into topics that sound interesting. I avoid politics/controversial ones usually, as they aren't that interesting to me., so I rely on users reporting posts to a moderator if people are being jerks/breaking site rules (since, as someone pointed out, no one can read all the threads).
I use the orange "new" button to jump straight to the first unread reply in each of those (obvious to some, but mentioning it for those of you that don't know).
There's a curious lack of a certain rebel spy in this thread. I don't think a thread has ever gotten this long without him posting.
Heh. Because it wasn't in my already replied threads, and I hadn't skimmed the unread ones today.
Also I laughed at multiple other comments made about me, so thanks for the chuckles, especially
Paul der Krake,
Grid, and
senecando :D
I have overwhelmed another website, similar to this one at one time, with thousands of my opinion posts over the years. My job there is done. :) Time to grace MMM with my wisdom. :) :)
I agree, except for me it's more like I have overwhelmed everyone in real life who will listen with thousands of my opinion tangents over the years.
I for one am glad you have this forum then. You had lots of good opinion tangents.
lowest non-zero post rate.
sorted members by join date, filtered for 1 post only, this guy posted once at 9AM the day the forums opened.
I laughed that the person that won this criteria's one post was volunteering to be a moderator. :)
Easily done from here after sorting by postcount. ARS is obviously the highest per day at 11.337 per day, with Thegoblinchief running a distant second at 8.337 (followed by warfreak2 and soccerluvof4 in that order). The lowest is tied between 14 people registered the first day the forums launched (Feb 14, 2012) with a single post count. Those users?

...with dilbert technically being the oldest of that lot, and semi-pro stache being the only active member within the past 30 days.

Also, postcount++.
THAT was interesting, thanks I.P.!
I think it's neat that there's still one user, semi-pro stache, that registered day 1, posted once and never again, but still visits and lurks (was active within the past month). I can't quite explain why, but it does make me happy that he's still out there, getting the benefit of Mustachianism.
As a side note, I've started doing a lot more posts like this, with multiple replies in one (as I did several times in the
Financial Goals thread I started in the journal section) - the opposite of padding my stats, so perhaps they'll start to dwindle.. :)
