Honda CRX HF
« on: April 16, 2012, 10:49:30 PM »
I'm not in the market for a car.

But I see a lot of car posts here.

Makes me wonder.  Remember the Honda CRX HF?

Does anyone have one?

Actually, I just bought a 1988 Honda Civic CRX to replace my beloved Skylark. (It was rear-ended by some idiot.) I got it cheap, and for a 24-year-old car it's in remarkably good shape. :) Sure, some of the paint is missing and it's a bit rusty and worn, but you can't beat that gas mileage - I get 31mpg in the city. :^D

I used to have the next generation two seater with removable roof.  I LOVED that car but grew up eventually and got something with back seats .....

Not exactly the same car, but I drove a 89 civic for a long while. Excellent car. Mine was over 200,000 miles so it did need repairs every couple of years, but it was always cheap and easy to fix. Great economy car.

I had a Silver 88 CRX all through college!  My friends all called it the "tin-can".  Car was super reliable and got great mileage (I think I was averaging 38 in mixed driving).

I came very close to buying a CRX a few years ago.  1991, mint shape w/ only 160k kms, for $3k.  Awesome deal imo.  Almost bought it but the lack of rear seats/trunk space was a killer for me.  Ended up buying my Subaru Legacy wagon instead.

I'd still love to have a CRX one day for commuting/puttering around town etc, love these cars.
