Good job. I’m in a similar situation to you and have been here for 2 and a half years so far. Basically my job is 100% remote full time and pays very well, sometimes I feel guilty and think I don’t deserve this, but I remember working over 80 hrs a week for years in super stressful environments to pay down loans and arrive here. The kicker with my job is they have an option to work non remote, so I also help out every other weekend doing this just to keep my skills sharp and my stimulation up. I also do consulting every other week, and have started my own woodworking business with my brother, we will be setting up a table to vend our products in less than a week, and over the past 2 years, the quality has dramatically increased. I have found that the key to working remotely successfully is to focus on other things as well that are more skill and physical labor type stuff to offset the sitting and thinking element from remote work. I love my job and consider myself very lucky, it’s funny because sometimes I have nostalgia for the super stressful days where I was running around for 12 hrs with no breaks, but then I remember telling myself how much I hated that and remind myself to never go back. When I get bored during downtime I pull up a compound interest calculator and start playing around with numbers.
