While the author isn't exactly mustachian, he at least knows how to save money. Check it out.

He's also very knowledgeable on investing. He's regularly in the top 10 of the yearly Bogleheads S&P500 guessing game, beating professionals from Goldman Sachs and Merrill Lynch.

It's a must-see site for docs.  Some of his latest publishings have been a little esoteric (if not sort of pro/anti-quasi commercialized almost simultaneously), and super esoteric for non-docs, but there is a treasure trove of great info on his site, not just for docs.  I get all the emails/publications and read them start to finish, even if I'm not interested in the topic, but because I know he will have some unique and insightful perspective into something I've never thought about before.  His site should be required reading for getting out of medical school, as well as Millionaire Next Door, but never will be, unfortunately.

If you're a doc, you owe it to yourself to check out his website.

That's a great site.  I'm not a doctor, but I found some very useful pages there.  My favorite so far is:
http://whitecoatinvestor.com/designing-your-portfolio-part-5-putting-together-the-asset-allocation/
where he talks about figuring out your own risk tolerance.  I wish I had read this 10 years ago.  He points out that if you overestimate your risk tolerance, you are likely to sell low after a crash.  It seems to me that most MMM readers have a medium to high risk tolerance----but that perception is really just another way of saying I have a lower risk tolerance than most who comment on the MMM forum.

I agree, his site is great! This is how I first got interested/educated in financial literacy.

his book was well worth the purchase price and I don't think you have to be a doc to learn from it. That book and Jacob's ERE book have been the most helpful books for me thus far.

Well, I saw this thread and thought I'd stop in and help out. But low and behold, it looks like I already have!

My frugality certainly isn't as refined as MMM's, and I may not even be frugal anymore (we had quite a spend-fest in 2014), but I'm still RELATIVELY frugal (relative to my income) and in the end, that's what really matters.

Love you stuff, I am following in your footsteps so to speak but went the USUHS route. If your payback was 10 instead of 7 (including residency) would you have stayed in for 20?

Edit: Found the info on your site, just didn't look well enough the first time.
