Text "Raincheck" to 888-222 by 6PM tonight eastern and get a free chipotle burrito. It is on their website if you don't believe me.
No affiliation.

I texted it but got nothing back yet, usually these things text me right away.
But then, usually the recruiter is not 7 minutes late to a phone interview...
ETA: looks like they say they will text you a coupon within a few days...

It took about 3 minutes for me to get my response, and 10 for my brother.

Takes a few minutes. But it works. I double posted this info in "reader recommendations". Here is a link that somewhat makes it seem legit:

Got the text, directed me to a web site where I fill out my info, then wait for ANOTHER text, lol. I wonder, are they trying to see if they've solved the problem or will food poison even more people? Surely they are up to something, even just a "come back, it's safe" token.

Can't remember where I read it, but I prefer calling it "America Gives Free Data to Chipotle Day".

They can have my name and zip code for a free burrito

No kidding--especially since I'm one of 4 people, unrelated, with my name in my zip code.

I thought you had to text them for it. If so, them getting your cell phone, via opt in text, is worth to them $$$ wise then the price of making a single burrito. Just sayin..
-
Just texted and they said I missed it. It's not even 5pm. :(
I did e-mail their corp address, bet I'll still end up with a burrito
-
I never received a response - sent it mid-day today. Not that I deserved a burrito, but I wish my 30 seconds of effort had made it worth it!
-
Got my free burrito coupon a day later. Expires in 2 weeks.
I'm happy.

I considered getting my free burrito. But I'm pregnant and Chipotle's e. coli outbreak has me a little wary. Sucks too, I love me free stuff (yesterday I cashed in on Yogurtland's free frozen yogurt day).

Relevant link to the FDA regarding the ongoing investigation in to the source of the E coli outbreak, where it occurred, and where they think it came from
In terms of actual exposure, it seems to be very very few cases across a very large area. I do agree that safety should be your utmost concern, but don't be too swayed by a little bit of news frenzy. It is just as likely that these people received exposure from a nearby grocery store, or poorly preparing their own food (no one ever admits when it's their own food)

For those of you who got the coupon, don't forget to use it, will expire by next week.
BTW, it looks like you can add guacamole and it still comes out free, at least it did for me.
Friendly tip from your neighborhood avocado lover.

Mine was delicious and made for a great free Valentine's Day date since I had my wife text too :)
