A feed (RSS) reader might be for you! It's a website or app that collects content from a lot of different blogs and websites that you pick, and then puts it in one place for you to read. Depending on how a blog is set up, many times you can even read the article without having to put up with all the advertising and distracting design elements on the original blog. It's nice because a: it's difficult to get "sucked in" because you don't necessarily go to the original website and b: if there are blogs you like that update on an irregular schedule, you get their content without having to remember to check there. Feedly is the one I use but there are others around.
The downside is that it takes a little time to set up (and to find material that you like) but I think it is worth it to have interesting and worthwhile content delivered straight to me without a lot of distractions.
I do have a lot of local news, work-related sources, and food/cooking blogs in my feed, but I also have some art/photography, frugal blogs, web comics, and assorted interesting/fun content that makes me feel good about reading it.
