Of course, as Mustachians we already know this. Saw a post today about very simple tips that, if people followed them, would ensure they saved enough for retirement.

Kind of amusing that the index card guy has now managed to make a whole book about these tips, though.

Nicely done, although I would suggest a couple of changes:

First, if one adheres to #2 and #7, they don't need #8.

Second, I'd replace the admonition to "save XX% of your money" to "Spend as little of your income as practical and invest the balance".

A friend just emailed me a link to this with the heading "sounds like someone I know" :).  I've been preaching this for a while and I always get funny looks when I say that becoming wealthy is "easy".  Of course I say this to other young professionals who have plenty of income just not enough good sense to keep most of it...

 it's actually suprising how much knowledge you need to know things could be put on an index card.

 financing a car, applying for a mortgage, replacing a dishwasher. there's really not many things that are too complicated until you get to things like astrophysics; yet people will pay a lot of money to a person or seminar to tell them these things.
