Done BabySteppin' - need more grown up Podcasts
« on: July 05, 2017, 11:24:20 AM »
Although I had fun listening to Ramsay over the last couple years, I need more adult stimulation. I agree that it has been a lot more commercialized and the same droll. I do look forward to the millionaire hours - but those are few and far between. But I am not in debt - have a paid for house - and looking to better my approach to 401K/IRA/Investment bucket planning.

But I need more adult personal finance podcasts.

What I currently have include...
  • Paul Merriman - really like
  • Stacking Benjamins - good info - fun and easy to listen to
  • Better Off with Jill Schlesinger -
  • Side Hustle School
  • Brian Preston's "Money Guys"

What PF podcasts do you listen to?

I've been enjoying Radical Personal Finance.  There's lot of content to choose from, so pick the episodes that relate to your situation and you should get some good in-depth knowledge from them.

Hmm, you made two topics about this. Please be careful about that.

If you listened to Ramsey, who I hear wears his Christianity loudly, then you should have no objection to Joshua Sheats- Radical Personal Finance. He goes FAR deeper into the weeds on things, a little slow speaker though, so you can crank the playspeed up to 2x and a bit above pretty easily.

If you're interested in movers and shakers and their experience, you might get some value out of Tim Ferriss podcast as well as The Knowledge Project.

If you're interested in business and economics, then I can recommend Freakonomics. I think I'm going to go check out some more of that nature, that's all I can recommend? Damn. Books though Confidence Game is absolutely awesome, and I really enjoyed American Icon: Alan Mullaly and the Fight to Save Ford.

Real estate I think you're supposed to check out Bigger Pockets, and Knowledge Project had an interview about land flipping/arbitrage/investing with https://www.thelandgeek.com/

For FI, MadFientist also has a podcast.
I'm going to check out a couple of your recommendations.

Diminishing returns killed the personal finance podcasts for me. Now I greatly prefer free audiobooks downloaded from my library via the overdrive app. All you need is a library card, and can download straight to your phone.
