Does this meet the MMM standard
« on: August 08, 2012, 12:21:18 PM »
Thinking about taking the plunge do you think this fits in an MMM lifestyle?
talk about marginal utility of money....not that I support taking from those who have it but this is one of those examples that you may have too much.

Obviously that's not Mustachian.

Basically all of those are concept yachts.  Any billionaire getting one will likely design their own to their own specifications.

I don't know - with that much space, you could probably have a fairly large greenhouse, maybe a small number of livestock.  It produces its own green energy.  If you choose to, one could possibly build it to be self-sustaining.

Then you just live your life on the island, never have to pay taxes again, have no need for income.

If you had a few million in savings already, it could be one way to go FI

Heh, interesting idea.

But I'd imagine building it alone would be a larger carbon footprint than many third world citizens use their whole lives.

Very interesting way to look at it.
