To get the latest 8" Samsung Galaxy Tab4, follow these steps:

1. By July 31st, 2014, open an All-Inclusive or Unlimited account.
2. By September 12th, 2014, (complete 2 of the following 3):
one direct deposit
one pre-authorized debit
one online bill payment using EasyWeb® Internet banking (including the TD mobile app)
3. Once completed, you’ll qualify for a free Samsung Galaxy Tab4 8.0.
4. Close the account (I added this final step)

The account has a steep $30/month fee but waived if you keep a balance of $5000.

I couldn't see anything about a minimum amount of time that you need to keep the account open.

What's the cancellation fee and fee to transfer your funds out at the end?

RBC is doing an iPad mini. Very similar deal.

I'm not seeing any cancellation fees on TD's legal section of the deal, so if you maintain the balance above $3500/$5000 depending on the account, might be worth it.

The RBC deal DOES have cancellation... if you cancel the account before Aug 31, 2015 (14 months from now) they will charge you $319, the retail price for the ipad. and there's no fee waived for minimum balance, so regardless you're going to be paying ~$150-250 for a $319 ipad.

I'm not certain on TD's dividend and the $30/month does seem insane but with Scotia at least the last time I did the math it was better to keep the 5000 in the form of Scotia stock and receive the dividends then it was to keep it in the account to cover the fees.

With $30/month in account fees being charged I'm reassured of my love for canadian banking stocks.

Hmmmm, this might be up my alley. I was pretty pissed when I saw RBC was offering ipad minis for new accounts...I have 3 accounts with them, plus mortgage and credit card and what do I get for being a good customer. Nada.
TD has been trying to get my business since we opened our e-series accounts with them, and we've been talking about getting a tablet for at least a year.
We've got our emergency fund parked in our regular chequing acct, so I could just move that over and have no fees plus a safety account box.
Anyone have a Samsung Galaxy 4 and like it?

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
