The best petrol executive sedan that money can buy
« on: August 01, 2013, 10:03:12 PM »
I came across this article the other day:
http://blogs.hindustantimes.com/car-nama/2012/12/14/honda-civic-end-of-the-road-for-an-icon-or-a-temporary-pause/

It's amusing how the Honda Civic is considered an "economy car" in the US, but in India it's considered an executive sedan. The article even mentions its low fuel economy (it is low, but not compared to most cars in the US).

Civics have a cult following because they are perceived as indestructible.

Mine is 15 years old with 108,000 miles on it.  Runs well, have only had to replace 1-2 things that are not things that wear out normally, like batteries and brakes.  Paint looks good and interior fabric has no holes, stains, tears, or sun rot, although there may be some of that developing on the top of the rear seats.

My parents have a '95 manual civic hatch with something like 200k+ miles on it. It is apparently still functioning just fine, although it is starting to rust out at the wheel wells. (Which is quite impressive, considering they live in MN. And my '05 mazda is rusted at the wheel wells.)
