Hi all!

I've been away a while, but I know that you all know the answer to this immediately: what's the best CC bonus(es) to sign up for?

I'm going to sign up for a card or two today, since I want to start it while still at my current job.  I have a 2% rewards card, so I'm not looking for one to keep, I'm looking for free bonuses.

What's the best out there right now?  I'll check back in this evening and sign up then.

Thanks!

If you haven’t received a Chase Sapphire card bonus in the last 48 months and can meet the minimum spend requirements for the Chase Sapphire Reserve and Chase Sapphire Preferred, I recommend “double dipping” by applying for one early on the week (eg Mon), and immediately applying for the other the day after the first one is approved.

It’s a loophole that allows you to get two Sapphire bonuses instead of waiting 48 months to become eligible again.

Worked for me a couple months ago, YMMV. Check out the subreddit r/churning for more info.

The best card is the one with the bonuses you are going to use. Go to the Wikipedia for your closest airport to see which airlines fly from it. Use award mapper to search hotel brands where you want to travel. Plan from there. If you haven’t taken the travelmiles101 class, sign up now. It’s free and they teach you how to get the most out of your cards. It won’t unfortunately help you tonight, but it is very thorough. Wishing you many happy trips and safe travels.

Best depends on what you want.  Cash?  Airline miles?  Hotel points?  Travel rebates?

Doctor of Credit is a great resource for sign-up bonuses: https://www.doctorofcredit.com/best-current-credit-card-sign-bonuses/

Thanks, all!  We're not going to use the travel as much as just cash.  I'm disappointed that there weren't great options that made sense, but I guess the market is what it is right now.

There's lots of great cards; again, go to doctor of credit, credit cards, best sign up bonuses.
Start at the top of the list and work your way through it.

What makes you say this?  What makes an offer "great" for you?

It's pretty easy to get a bonus that will give you 10-20% off your required spend.

My latest card is the Wells Fargo Autograph - I'll get 30k points (worth $300) after spending $1500.  They also have another card offering $200 back after spending $1000.  Earlier in the year I got the AARP Travel Rewards card (they have a similar non-travel one with different bonus categories) for $200 back for $1000 spend.  I don't spend much, so I put a higher value on the lower spend requirement cards.

Exactly this. Another simple one is Chase Freedom Flex: $200 on $500 spend.
I'm doing a biz card (Divvy from Bill- yes, that is the name) for $500 bonus on $500 spend. Seems great to me.

Chase Sapphire Preferred is still a great card even if you don't use the points for travel.  You can just cash them out for $640 after you complete the minimum spend, which is 16% back on your spending.

That's not bad at all!
