How is it that ting scores so wonderfully but sprint scores dead last?  Is it simply pricing?  Or is it expectations of the service (I.e. People don't expect prepaid to be as good as postpaid). It would seem to me you'd have the exact same problems with ting you have with sprint.

Hated Sprint, love Ting. For one, somehow Sprint phones due to cell towers would drop your cell service and you wouldn't know till someone told you that they had tried to call you and couldn't connect. Prices were another issue (random change of how they charge in the middle of a plan, that one got them cancelled).

Ting has only ever done that once (not a hundred times) and their pricing is awesome. Customer service is also remarkably helpful. So yes, I can see rating Sprint horribly and Ting wonderfully because I would too.

Caoineag, that's great that you've had a wonderful experience with Ting but since Ting runs on Sprints network its impossible for it to "outperform" a comparable sprint device same time same location. I guess the rating is customer service/price based

The cell service with Ting is about the same as Sprint since it uses the Sprint towers. The price/customer service is the biggest difference.

I was paying $95/month for two phones until March. Now, I pay $35. Even with the ETF's that Sprint charged($140), I am still saving money, especially since Ting refunded 25% of that. No stupid contract either.

Jag, I suspect the devices were NOT comparable as I have had two different resellers on the sprint network that both worked better than sprint and I agree that the cell tower dropping should have carried over (and it didn't). Again pricing and customer service are very different than sprint but to be fair to sprint, its been a very long time since I last had them. My experience with them was so horrible though that I will never give them another chance...
