Limit used to be $999/day. Don't know exactly when they upped it to $1500/day but i'm guessing a couple months ago because it was $999 when I looked back in March.

Cap1 closed the nearest branch to me years ago.
Instead of walking 1.5 miles to the next one to deposit cash because parking SUCKS, there's a walgreens 3 blocks away.
I deposited $900 like usual via Cap1 app at cashier (scan unique barcode) then tried to deposit $600 more with another app generated barcode. Nope, rejected. Shift lead doesn't know why. (same person, same register)
There's a cvs 5 blocks away from the Walgreens. Walked there and deposited $500 no probs.
i chose $500 instead of $600 because some stores have a $500 limit per transaction. Next time will try $600 if the walgeens rejects me again for the 2nd deposit.
Either it's still $999 max per store or Walgreens hasn't updated their systems to allow $1500/day.

Why so much cash? Are you an independent street pharmacist?

A few years go, when I was still a landlord, one of my tenants insisted on paying me in cash. He would physically bring me a stack of $100s every month. Fortunately, I lived a block away from a Chase Bank at the time, that accepted cash deposits at the ATM.
I try to eliminate the need for carrying currency whenever possible. Right now, the only place I ever use it is where I get my hair cut -- as they only accept cash.
