Can't find inspiring story I saw on MMM
« on: October 14, 2019, 03:05:20 PM »
A few years back I remember a story I read on this website.   I don't remember whether it was in the main MMM blog or on the forum.

It was a man writing in, telling about growing up in poverty.  His parents didn't know how to budget so he often went hungry at the end of the pay period because they spent their income inefficiently.   He realized this and took over the grocery shopping and food prep for his parents and suddenly there was enough food.

Anyone have a link to it?   I haven't been able to find it and I'm hoping someone else can.

@tawyer ,   just read thru it.  Not the story I was looking for, but damn, it's a good thread.   I put in on my notify list.   Thanks!

I'm willing to bet it's in a Journal, which are harder to properly search. My google-fu has failed me.

Best of luck, sounds interesting.

Lol, something similar happened when me and my sister took over family grocery shopping  - the cost dropped in half and the food got better. You know you're shit at grocery shopping when your fairly clueless 12 year old is literally 50% better at it than you.

Perhaps it was WhiteTrashCash?   He had 2 journals and posted occasionally in general topics too.  Recently he deleted his journals, and stepped back from the forum.

I hope he returns.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
