Buying appliances on Facebook marketplace

Anybody ever done this? Is there any sort of arbitration process, in case the appliances do not work after I buy them?
Also, does anybody believe I should just pay extra to purchase in-store?

It's the same as Craigslist. You need to be able to evaluate the item on the spot, or feel comfortable enough with the discounted price that any potential problems mean it is still worth it. I have bought and sold dozens of items worth anywhere from $10 to $1000 on Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace. The cost savings and value has been worth it to me...But your mileage may vary. Are you the kind of person who is handy enough to diagnose and fix an appliance with some Youtube videos and an Amazon order for replacement parts?

Bought several from there and Craigslist. For a fridge, ask them to have it plugged in and working when you get there. We don't have any electric stoves, and there's not much can go wrong on a cheap gas stove, so I don't worry much about them.
