Here's something new.   One of our conservative MPs has tabled a private member's bill to "to create a framework within three years to grow the cryptocurrency sector in Canada and reduce the administrative burden for those working in it."

This is a very non-conservative thing to do, in my mind.    I would have expected the conservatives to table a bill to ban cryptocurrency, especially the way they're always complaining about our outrageous deficit.    I'm curious to see if it gets any traction in the house.

Why any of the MPs are screwing around with boosting cryptocurrency is beyond my understanding.   We have real problems with housing, the assorted government deficits and health care that they should be focusing on.

Alberta is a Conservative bastion in Canada, and under Kenny several sizable crypto server farms (powered entirely by Alberta's gas) have been built and are in operation.  I wonder if there's a connection there?

Plus, crypto's roots are based in Libertarian ideology, which I'm not sure about Canada but they work alongside conservatives quite often
