does this apply to cars too? how do you not get ran over if the cars from on coming traffic still gets green light

at least 50% responsible due to strict protection laws. This makes drivers very careful around bikes, because even if the biker is at fault, the driver's insurance will have to cough up at least 50% of the cost. If the driver is at fault, it's 100% of course. And it helps that
everyone bikes, so drivers know what it's like to bike. 84% of Dutch people have at least 1 bike (true statistic).
