Berkey Water Filters?
« on: July 08, 2017, 05:08:47 AM »
Anybody have any experience with Berkey water filters?  Do they work well, do they last?  Are they "worth the money"?

Thanks!  CC

My mom has had hers about a year. Loves it. Would buy it again in a heartbeat.

She won't drink the tap water, which I think tastes fine. She is big into health, so I think it was less about taste and more about what she's putting into her body,

I have one only a few months old, but so far I like it. It helped get rid of the algae taste in my water, but it doesn't taste like RO. We got it because the filters last so much longer than a Brita, but the price ends up the same. So it's worth the money to us, since it evens out eventually and has less waste.

Yes, we love our Berkey. There are two adults and an old pug in our house. The travel size is perfect. I use a lot of water for cooking beans and rice.  Always have enough water. I just remember to fill it up at night before bed. It's a slow drip. The filters will last us several years. We also have the fluoride filter which will last about 1.5 years. Easy set up. The only thing is that it took some time to prime the fluoride filters before the water became clear. Just FYI in case you get that.
