Anyone using Republic Wireless who resides in Hawaii
« on: September 16, 2013, 03:26:18 PM »
I've been doing research RW to add a line for DS. RW can be used in Hawaii, but one needs to order and be billed from a mainland address. I've been to the RW site to confirm that. My question to mustachians is if anyone is doing this  and making it work.

Sorry, I'm using a cheap dumb LG clamshell ($20 at Wal-Mart) with Verizon's $15/month pay-as-you-go.

Do you know if that Republic phone would work in all 50 states (or at least Hawaii + Mainland) at the same price?

I'd also be worried about the coverage in Hawaii.  I can't even get a good connection if I call someone on the other side of a ridgeline... it sounds like the signal has been bounced around four or five different towers.

Please do yourself a favor - click here then enter Republic Wireless in the search box near the top of the page, paying particular attention to posts from I.P. Daley. The short of it: Republic Wireless is not recommended in general. This is even more true for you considering you have to jump through a hoop of having a mainland address.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
