I have a coworker who just put in their two weeks. That person has a pretty specific position and I'm the only other person in the office that knows anything about it. I know my boss is between a rock and a hard place and is considering a pricey consultant because my plate is full. I've been thinking about asking my boss if I can step up and streamline some processes and add 20hrs to my work week if I can be compensated to save the company from having add an expensive opex to the bottom line...atleast for the short term. Anyone ever done this before? I don't really know how to approach it.
