Fascia-Mount Rail System
« on: January 20, 2014, 01:20:47 PM »
This might be a strange place to post this question and I'll def keep digging on my own.  If I'm lucky, perhaps MMM can answer himself...

I was reading through an old post (brief history of the stash) and noticed the pic he posted with the spiral stair (http://www.mrmoneymustache.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/spiralstair.jpg), which brought the fascia-mounted railings into view.

I need to replace railings in a similar manner and had never considered this sort of system, which would be perfect, versus replicating the current top- and post-mounted system on a new post that is not suicidally low.

Anybody have insight into these systems?  Are there pre-packaged products or is it better to construct piecemeal?  Any recommended vendors?  If MMM is out there and reads this, can you simply tell me how you built that one?  It, as well as the staircase, is beautiful.

Current, way-too-low, not-really-my-style railings pic attached.

Thanks
