Ally Banking 1% extra back up to $1,000 on new money deposited
« on: October 16, 2018, 11:03:12 PM »
This is ~ 5% back for a couple months, not counting the regular interest earned.  Not bad.

https://allypaybacktime.com/

- Available for existing customers - just need to deposit "new" money

- Ally account is a soft pull

- Savings Account @ 1.90%

Qualifying funds must remain in the eligible account(s) from 11/05/18 until 1/15/19. Any withdrawals prior to 1/15/19 may reduce the qualifying funds total, thereby reducing Cash Bonus payout.

Shoot...I just moved a couple cd's but hadn't enrolled in this. Any idea if they will make it retroactive? Luckily they are no penalty CD's so I could break them out and just put in new ones?

If I'm reading this right I could potentially make $500 of that(it's $50k)

Thanks for calling this out! I wasn't aware of the promotion.

From what I've see n they seem to be making it pretty clearing that withdrawing and putting back won't work as they will compare the balance on 10/8 to the ending balance, but you could call and ask if it's retroactive if you sign up after making the deposit. Seems likely for the same reason that withdrawing and redepositing probably won't work.

This is well timed. 4.8% APY of risk-free interest.  Thanks for the heads up!

I would call to ask, some on boggleheads have had success calling in with this situation.

I'm going to give them a call, I'm in this same boat. Just cashed out a CD with my CU and transferred the funds to Ally.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
