Page ten! Woot woot!
I was an active member of a television-show-based forum before this one (an ancient comedy show's fan club, not some reality cable crap) and I enjoyed the low-key camaraderie. However, it slowly dwindled and I lost interest. I lurked here for nearly a year before signing up, but it's starting to get to the point where a lot of it is "same old, same old". However, I stay for the semi-Off Topic topics - the social analysis that others have mentioned and the opportunity to get an insight into wildly different lives. The forum does get me down sometimes ("I earn $100k and have it so hard, wah wah wah!") but by and large it's an eye-opening experience. I like the no-holds-barred attitude. One rarely gets that in real life. There are a couple of buttheads around but by and large they are kept in check by the rest of us.
I imagine that there will be a tipping point, though, when the "blah" outweighs the interesting and I'll leave and find somewhere else. Not because I'm abandoning Mustachianism but because that's the way the internet crumbles.
