(Australia) Citibank offering 5% cashback for 4 months
« on: March 15, 2016, 08:23:28 PM »
I'm not sure how long they have been offering this, but it wasn't available last year when we got a Citibank Plus account before traveling (it gives a great deal for travelers).

Anyway, it is the standard cash back deal that has been offered from ING and ME Bank in recent times (5% back on paypass/wave transactions under $100), but in this case it is capped at $150 per month cash back and you have to deposit $3000 a month to get it.

It might be especially handy for those (like myself) who can no longer get cash back from ME Bank as their offer has ended, and can only get 2% from ING.

Sadly only for new customers. I hate it when existing customers get skipped over for deals like this. One of the reasons why I like Ubank - they don't pull this sort of thing and actually reward you for your loyalty.

I'm planning on getting my husband to sign up for an account.

Must check out UBank. Thanks for the tip, limeandpepper.

Ive been considering opening a citibank account to use when I go on holidays. Might be worth it, but the cashback offer is only valid for four months. So not sure if I can be bothered opening another account just for this.

The loyalty bonus I refer to applies to the term deposits when you renew them. Though, the interest rates on those aren't so great these days.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
