"I Ain't Got No Car Note" music video
« on: October 30, 2016, 02:31:05 PM »
Good on this guy for celebrating not having dept on a depreciating asset.  Also love that they show a guy with a bicycle at 3:33 "Mark M. No Car Note Since 1983"  :)

This is amazing!!

And as an owner of a '93 Accord, I can totally relate.

My favourite lines:

"My car smoke more than Wiz Khalifa"

"Even if you make more than me I save more than you
I make more out of less and gross what I net
I own this you can never repossess"

"Man whatchu know about blowing your horn
Just to make the windshield wipers come on?
Every month something break always some drama
I see my mechanic more than my mama"

Love it! Though I think the tune is stuck in my mind.

I have a 97, and recently carpooled with a friend who drives an 01.  We agreed that not having a car payment was awesome, not to mention the benefit of much, much lower registration fees.

I noticed this gem only has 1900 views. Can we change that? Hell, yes! Spread the love, people.

Looks like he has quite the story.

Private school, followed by a successful education at LA's top public HS.

Attended LSU and taught mathematics.

After juggling teaching and music he quit teaching to focus on music career, simultaneously working on a financial literacy campaign.

Pretty freakin awesome! Someone posted about this on the MMM FB group too.

Didn't catch that it was the same dude. Good stuff, thanks. The car one still deserves more exposure, IMO.

Sounds like a fancy new luxurious car to me.

It definitely is. It has 430,000 km right now. My father thinks my plan is to drive it until the odometer has gone all the way to 999,999 and come back to 0 and sell it as a brand new car.

Really good video about why he drives the 98 Honda: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WmekLrezfYY

He explains how he doesn't want his young fans to define themselves by their car and go into insane debt buying BMWs to be like a rapper.
