Sacking my accountant - help needed
« on: May 17, 2023, 11:42:29 AM »
I'm a former contractor and I want to keep my contract ready company alive, but the accountant is draining a lot of money from it and they're not very good - and on both fronts they've visibly deteriorated.  I want to sack them and was wondering whether there's anything out there about:

1.  The tax year events that I need to work into my calendar
2.  Getting the FreeAgent data to my own FreeAgent instance

I can build this information up myself, but was wondering if there is anything out there to avoid reinventing the wheel on this..

Fellow (ex) contractor here.

I'm with Gorilla and they've offered to reduce my monthly fee to £50. For that they still file the Annual Accounts, Corp Tax and Self Assessment which I'm guessing are the only three things left to do this financial year, after which I'll probably leave them.

I also use FreeAgent and my understanding is that there is an export all data option which is hidden for me but I assume they can do this. BUT I'm not sure if there is a corresponding import option.

Also, not sure how it would work going forward as Gorilla don't use FreeAgent to submit the Self Assessments, so not sure if that would affect things.

Basically I'm in the same boat and for now I'm just taking the £50 a month hit while I kick the can down the road!

Let me know if you manage to find out any further information.
