Icy Bike Winter Commuting Challange
« on: November 25, 2013, 12:00:36 PM »
The challenge is to commute 52 times by bicycle between October 1st and March 31st. Although it has already started, there's no reason we can't join in. It'll be a good motivator for me to keep up with my bike commutes as the temps drop and the snow falls. There's actually an indie film about the challenge last year.

Is anyone else interested?

Sounds awesome! It was super icy when I biked home last week--first time of the year and I was slacking off and hadn't even put on my studded tires. One spot was a total skating rink (or actually worse, I've biked on skating rinks before and this was much slicker!). I was going very slow but still wiped out when it was time to turn.

I don't really do fancy "GPS" or "Facebook" stuff, but happy to join you in spirit!

I actually bike commute more in the winter than the summer.  The heat is way worse than a little sleet and freezing rain.  Like I have for the commute home tonight.  Sigh.
