OK, this isn't exactly throwing down the gauntlet, but I'm curious who else on here is using Treehouse. Maybe we could support one another in goal setting and problem solving? I like the classes but I find their forum kind of unwieldy. Also, if anyone is thinking of signing up but hasn't yet maybe we could get a referral chain going like the one for Ting.

Online technology/design/business classes. A friend of mine did build the most amazing treehouse I've ever seen, if I can find a picture I'll post it.
Have you checked out CodeAcademy? They have a really good program for learning how to code and it's free!
I have checked it out and will probably go back to it at some point but I was really attracted to the somewhat broader range of options with treehouse.

I just started Treehouse a month ago and I love it! Basically I've just been going over the CSS Layout section multiple times, and following along with Codepen. Everytime I'm starting to remember more and get it down!
Places like codecademy and learn street are alright, but they don't go indepth with stuff, and I'm the kind of person that needs to be showed how to do stuff. I can't learn stuff from reading text books. I have no problems once I learn the concept then I can go back to reference it but yeah whatever...
I'd be down to partner up with people in this as I really want to become a web developer and get out of my lameo sales career right now. I think I have a good handle on HTML(pretty simple) CSS is a bit more confusing but I'm starting to understand that as well. I just don't know what method of laying out stuff is the best at this point... inline-block, floats, flexbox, grid?!
After I get CSS down more I'm heading over to JS and going balls deep in that for awhile, and then I think PHP. We shall see how it goes!

OK, you wanted a real treehouse, here's a real treehouse.
Seth, it sounds like you and I are in a similar place. My biggest problem has been that for a while I was getting too wrapped up in the points and badges and not worrying enough about really understanding. I've been going back and redoing some of the classes too just to make sure I've got the hang of them, that really helps. Right now I'm doing the new version of the basic build a website class with the goal of getting it down to the point where I don't have to look anything up to do the code challenges and just get them right the first time.

I love Treehouse! Their Android track helped me jumpstart my a recent career move out of embedded firmware. Currently at a dream job and I can even now bike to work! I've also completed a decent portion of the iOS and Web tracks, just for fun (currently at ~4,000 pts).
I think Codecademy is great for an intro, but I feel like I learned a ton more with the Treehouse courses. They really teach you a lot. I'd love to be a part of any Mustachian Treehouse effort.

I have a Team Treehouse subscription! I joined to get better at Javascript and jQuery. My background is in PHP/MySQL so it has been good to get into front end development too, even though I'm not very good at it. I was surprised how much I learned in the CSS course and when they got into advanced selectors like pseudo classes it blew my mind.
If anyone has questions about PHP or MySQL they are welcome to ask me.
