I'll join, but I won't be able to hit $100K for a couple. We are a single family income, so I can't put in 401K for DW.

401K $18500 On track through payroll
IRA 1 $5500 DONE
IRA 2 $6500 DONE
HSA $6900 On track through payroll
FSA $600 On track through payroll
Match $6000 (not exactly a match, but will be about this much put in by employer) DONE ~$6200
ESPP $12000 (this is an estimate full value based on sell and reinvest) On track through payroll
RSU $10000 On track
Tax $15000 DONE (see notes below)

I estimate about $81000, this is slightly higher than last year mostly due to increased maximums. Not sure about counting principal payments or not, but if added that's ~$12000 which puts us close to the challenge goal.

Principal paid to date ~$4100
I also sold quite a bit of ESPP and RUs I had been holding and reinvested it in VTSAX in my Taxable account.

Feeling good about my progress so far

Sorry I'm late, but I'm in (single):
401K: 18500
401k matching: 5000
IRA: 5500
HSA: $3,450
Taxable: $17,550

Current Progress:
401K:                $6,723 / $18,500 - Will have to adjust contributions down later to ensure I get the full matching throughout the year
401k matching:  $1,524 / $5,000 (may be a bit more or less depending on hours, but this is typical - if short here I'll try and make up elsewhere)
IRA:                  $8,835 / $8,835 (realized early this year I didn't max it last year, so this year included contributions for both tax years) - DONE
HSA:                  $774 / $3,450
Taxable:             $750 / $17,550 (pushed to get IRA contributions in first, this is up next)

Total:                 $18,606 / $53,335 (adjusted up for 2017 IRA contribution) - 35% done

Stretch goal is $60k by adding even more to the taxable account.

Paying the mortgage as well (about $900 per month to principal) but not counting it since that's my forever home.

We are in again.

401k and match (mine): $23000
401k and match (hers): $24000
HSA: $5000
Mortgage Principal: $9000
Taxable: $48000

Total: $109000

The 401ks and HSA are on track and we have put 30000 into taxable so far. That is a bit ahead of schedule boosted by strong bonus at work.

April's numbers.

Married; single income; 2 kids

This month I repaired our dishwasher (circulation pump) and dryer (thermal fuse) to keep our 16 year old appliances going strong.  That probably saved us around $300 or more in labor costs this month.

HSA                   $1633 / $4900
HSA Match              $500 / $2000
401K After Tax       $28688 / $29270
401K Employer Match   $3331 / $7230
401K Pre Tax             $0 / $18500
Roth IRA              $3807 / $5500
Wife Traditional IRA  $3807 / $5500

Taxable Account          $0 / $7000

Edit: As of 3/31
Goal: $100k

Stash accounts
403b - 4575 / 18500
SIMPLE IRA - 3479 / 12500
401a - 1509 / 6000
SIMPLE match - 625 / 2500
Backdoor Roth - 5500 / 5500
I bonds - 10000 / 10000
(Other) Taxable - 7500 / 27000

Other savings
529 #1 - 1300 / 6000
529 #2 - 1300 / 6000
Extra principal on mortgage - 1000 / 6000

Not quite on track for taxable savings yet.  Child care cost reductions coming soon will hopefully help us get there.

If I juice the numbers a bit to include fixed debt repayment, I would add:
Standard principal payments on mortgage - 15200
Student loan principal - 2700

Hitting those goals means a NW increase of just under $120k in the absence of any investment returns/house price appreciation; i.e. this is what I can control.

Goals:

$39,415 TFSA
$34,532 RRSP

Date To Date   /  Goal %
Jan 2018 $4,035.22   /  $64,539 6.3%
Feb 2018 $8,027.74   /  $64,539 12.4%
Mar 2018 $12,975.69   /  $73,947 17.5%
Apr 2018 $16968.21   /  $73,947 22.9%

Though it appears I'm behind it's actually on target, just due to a TFSA vs RRSP maxing switch that's happening in the second half of the year.

Well, we didn't save a lot in April, but we had a pretty spendy trip and I was anticipating our savings rate plummeting for the month. I'm pretty disappointed that it went all the way down to 33.8% for the month of April but it at least still over 40% for the YTD (41.6% specifically). May should be MUCH more frugal than April was. We had a fabulous trip to Europe where we visited good friends and got to provide my awesome mother-in-law with a true once in a lifetime experience, so I have zero regrets on that and we'll focus on May and beyond! We are still BARELY on track for 100k over the entire year...

YTD:
401k, our contributions: $15,349.59
401k matches: $10,198.30
repayments on 401k loans: $4,867.95
HSA, including matches: $2,438.82
cash: $882.81

Total: $33,737.07

Fomerly known as something

Good news for the month is that I found the right person to complain to about the 401(k), and they changed the plan so I should be able to start contributing this month! Bad news is that the 401(k) company apparently didn't fix it right and thinks I'm not eligible to contribute until 2039. Hopefully they can get it sorted out.

APRIL PROGRESS
$  6,277 / $ 18,500 -- 401k Mrs
$  3,296 / $   6,593 -- 401k Match Mrs (no change until July)
$  7,718 / $ 18,500 -- 401k Mr
$  6,773 / $   5,122 -- 401k Match Mr
$  2,836 / $   5,230 -- HSA Mrs
$     270 / $   1,670 -- HSA Mr
$49,775 / $ 60,000 -- Taxable Investments
$  4,400 / $   8,000 -- Other Savings
$16,142 / $ 30,900 -- Extra Principal Payments
$97,487 / $154,515 -- TOTAL GOAL FOR 2018

Now up to 63% of annual goal!

My laziness paid off somewhat. I know the Family HSA limit was lowered to $6,850 but now the IRS has reversed it for 2018 back to $6,900 so I don't have to adjust the HSA for this year after all!

Wow, inspiring stuff everyone!  I will say it's interesting to learn about the various accounting strategies that I've never thought of before.  I typically think of dollars in my gross paycheck that I am putting toward investments/retirement but now I see there are other ways to consider that make sense to me (and they get me to 50k!).

It'll be a month in a few days and the numbers shouldn't change between now and then, so here's the May update:

401K:                $8,898 / $18,500 - Still having to adjust contributions down later to ensure I get the full matching throughout the year
401k matching:  $2,144 / $5,000 - may be a bit more or less depending on hours, but this is typical - if short here I'll try and make up elsewhere
IRA:                  $8,835 / $8,835  - Goal Achieved
HSA:                  $1,251 / $3,450 - just upped the contribution rate as it seems the change I put in a while ago never went through
Taxable:             $7,050 / $17,550 - focusing on this now, though I am booking my fall vacation and taking my spring vacation this month so it likely won't jump quite this much next month..

Total:                 $28,178 / $53,335 (adjusted up $3,335 for 2017 IRA contribution) - 53% done

Single and aiming to save $55,000 in 2018, for about a 50% savings rate. I started a new job 3 months ago and I won't be able to join the 401(k) until July 1. So I am hoping to max out my 401(k) in the last six months of the year.

Update:

Turns out I'm eligible to join the 401(k) with my May paycheck (we are paid once per month). Also I decided to fund my Roth IRA.

Married, 1 income, 3 kids, income of 98k/year

401k             18500
401k Match    5140
Roth IRA        5500
Taxable          11660

$40,800. Goal would be 50k/year, I don't really consider the HSA as savings since with 3 kids it gets used up pretty quickly.

I think it would benefit this forum if income was included also...

Why not use the taxable money to pay for your health bills, and allow the HSA to grow tax-free?  Keep your receipts and you'll be able to withdraw it down the road.

May's numbers.

Married; single income; 2 kids

Rolled over my after tax contributions to my Roth IRA this month.  Also revised my 401K after tax goal down by $213, but upped my employer match by about the same amount.  All of the 401K contributions should hopefully add to $55000 and be correctly allocated.  Because the 401K contributions are done on a percentage basis, I'll technically go just a bit beyond the $55k limit, but Fidelity sends out a check next year for any overages.  Both IRAs are now all finished for the year.

HSA                   $2042 / $4900
HSA Match              $500 / $2000
401K After Tax       $29062 / $29058
401K Employer Match   $4114 / $7442
401K Pre Tax           $321 / $18500
Roth IRA              $5500 / $5500
Wife Traditional IRA  $5500 / $5500
Mortgage Principal    $3633 / $8834
Taxable Account        $254 / $7000

Total:               $50670 / $88734 (57.1%)

I have not thought of that option.

I have looked past this challenge for the last few years because as a couple we did not even make 100k, so no way we could save 100k.  However, it looks like there are at least a few that joined as a couple that are not able to make the 100k goal either!!

We have a couple hiccups this year that makes our savings rates/abilities even lower than normal.  I am the only one with access to a 401k and I switched jobs, that means that I have lost the ability to contribute to 401k for 30 days and no longer have an HSA option.  I am also due with our 2nd (last) kid in March and will be taking an unpaid maternity leave, meaning no 401k contributions during that time and delayed (until I get back to work) savings for everything else.  So my updates might not happen again (or be unremarkable) until July-ish.  Although I think I should get a couple contributions into the new 401k in March before baby is born, we will see.

I also rounded the goals but the YTD and Remaining will include pennies!

The good news: baby is healthy, I am back to work and savings can begin (again), and we had maternity leave savings left over to pay a contractor to finish some of our DIY that started 6 years ago.
The bad news: I lost the flash drive that had my Excel file that I keep all this information so I had to re-create some of it, and the only thing that we have really done since March is make the min payments on debt.

Name Goal / YTD / Remaining
401k S&S $5500 / $1302.55 / $4197.45
401k Match $3895 / $1344.54 / $2550.46
IRA DH $8500 / $3000 / $5500
HSA   $1900 / $1900 / $0
529  $1200 / $0 / $1200
Debt $22600 / $6446.67 / $16153.33

Total   $43595 / $13993.76 / $29601.24 = 68%

The good news: baby is healthy, I am back to work and savings can begin (again), and we had maternity leave savings left over to pay a contractor to finish some of our DIY that started 6 years ago.
The bad news: I lost the flash drive that had my Excel file that I keep all this information so I had to re-create some of it, and the only thing that we have really done since March is make the min payments on debt.

NameGoalYTDRemaining
401k S&S$5500$1302.55$4197.45
401k Match$3895$1344.54$2550.46
IRA DH$8500$3000$5500
HSA$1900$1900$0
529$1200$0$1200
Debt$22600$6446.67$16153.33
Total$43595$13993.76$29601.24=68%

Congratulations on the baby! And you're certainly putting in work on your goals, so congrats on those too.

Just in case you want to turn your posts into a table I've copied it here (should be able to copy and paste it with updates as you do them). Can you tell I'm bored at work?

Updating end of month now:

401K:                $10,163 / $18,500 - Still having to adjust contributions down later to ensure I get the full matching throughout the year
401k matching:  $2,572/ $5,000 - may be a bit more or less depending on hours, but this is typical - if short here I'll try and make up elsewhere
IRA:                  $8,835 / $8,835  - Goal Achieved
HSA:                  $1,374 / $3,450 - just upped the contribution rate as it seems the change I put in a while ago never went through
Taxable:             $8,000 / $17,550 - focusing on this now, though I booked my fall vacation and just got back from a week's vacation so not as much progress as I might have made otherwise

Total:                 $30,944 / $53,335 (adjusted up $3,335 for 2017 IRA contribution) - 58% done

End of June update:

401K:                $11,839 / $18,500 - Still having to adjust contributions to ensure I get the full matching throughout the year
401k matching:  $3.022/ $5,000 - may be a bit more or less depending on hours, but this is typical - if short here I'll try and make up elsewhere
IRA:                  $8,835 / $8,835  - Goal Achieved
HSA:                  $1,576 / $3,450 - Should be on track now
Taxable:             $6,350 / $17,550 - Overall this went down, but I did take a vacation and book two more vacations during the past month so I should be able to get back on top of this moving forward. I used money from this account to pay for the trips and so I took that back out of this year's contributions.

Total:                 $34,422 / $53,335 (adjusted up $3,335 for 2017 IRA contribution) - 65% completed
