I am at 1006k.  I have been between 1000 and 1009k in the last 6 months no higher.  Lowest was about 960.  So dont worry too much everyone is the same.

There is something...comforting...about not being the only one.

I’m about ready to increase my contribution to investments.  As I look at the progress charts posted, I can’t determine what the individual contribution is month to month.  What are y’all putting in?

Between my work retirement, Roth IRA, and soon to be started non tax advantaged account I can set a goal of saving $1,000 a week.  Is that high or low for a million dollar race?  Last few years it didn’t seem to matter that my contribution was lower since the stock market went up so much it dwarfed what I could put in, now it seems I can’t reach escape velocity.

So far I've been tracking my inputs on an annual basis rather than monthly.  I maxed out the legally allowed 401k contributions last year but no IRA, Employer match for 2021 was 5455.47

1000/week is great!

I will average around $1300/wk this year.

Assuming you're starting off at $500K, contributing $1K/wk and an 8% return, you should hit $1M in 235 wks / 4.5 years. Doesn't seem too slow to me! But there are people on this forum making $1M+/yr so you should tread carefully with comparison. I think the point of this thread is to track your own progress along with people who are at a similar stage. Some may be in this stretch for 6 months, others 6 years.

Bumping along, right around flat YTD. I have to remind myself that $500k is over 25% more earnings than it was the first time I hit this number.

2022 Q1 Update
Still, I added a "year-over-year growth of invested assets" chart to my spreadsheets, and 3/31 value is 16.9% on that metric. Net worth grew 14.9% in the same time period.

2022 Q2 Update
The Year-over-year streak of about 5 years is over... now at -6.6%! Just above May 2021 net worth.

Percentage-wise this is actually very comparable to the 2020 Q1 loss... but slightly greater. (Now if only it kicks off another seven straight positive quarters...)

Only reason I'm up from June of last year is that I kicked an extra 110K in.  Ouch!  In the long run the extra investments will be a good thing, but at the moment it's just painful.

Updating this table this year is a lot less fun than it was last year.

On a positive, I received my biggest raise ever and starting next month an additional 4% will be be saved into retirement accounts. Usually it's either nothing or capped at 3%. But this year they moved to a system where the base is 2% and gave high performers 3 or 4%. So the boost is gratifying to both my retirement accounts and my ego, ha!

2019     381,913
2020     495,309
2021     591,399

June update: $537,872, down $25,789.

Saved: $2,221.04
Spent: $1,831.69

Tidbits...
Added approx. $3.65/mon to FRA SS.
Avg 28.04 hrs/wk at work.
Added $510.79 to PTO bank.

Haven't done it yet, but I'm thinking about integrating the cashout value of my PTO into my net worth. It's getting sizeable.

Starting to feel like an imposter in this race! Even total NW is under $500K now. Y'all tell me if I should go back to posting in the $500K thread, OK?

Updating this table this year is a lot less fun than it was last year.

During the 2008 mess, I was pretty much oblivious to what was going on.  Had my 401 and IRA contributions automated, didnt really follow financial news.  Had accounts scattered, rarely checked balances, never knew how much I had.  Might be time for me to go on another 'low information diet', lol.  Keep the contributions automatic, in the background, and continue to follow my plan.

Starting to feel like an imposter in this race! Even total NW is under $500K now. Y'all tell me if I should go back to posting in the $500K thread, OK?

I'm seeing some posts acknowledging crypto- losses as dragging down total wealth. I've probably lost about $3,000 because of the crypto- pullback.

@oneday LOL that's a great way to put it. I am also back below the line. I continue to pile money in and won't track closely until the market turns around. Then it will be a fun surprise to see how much buying now will add on the eventual upswing.

Back to September 2021 levels, in spite of heavy saving!

To distract myself from the current market, I pulled up share numbers for June 2021 vs June 2022 for my company 401k that's getting quite a bit of my heavy saving going it.  I was pleasantly surprised to see that my number of shares was up between 16-27% year on year depending on the fund in question.  Buying on sale indeed.

Oof! Back to July 2021 levels now, despite a year of contributions.

I must admit I've been wondering if FIREing on May 2nd 2022 was the best idea, but I'm holding steady as per my asset allocation of one year of spending in cash and 3 years in bonds. We'll see how things are next April if I need to reassess going back to work!

Oct 2021:  $563,047.23
Nov 2021:  $571,338.24
Dec 2021:  $600.016.41
Jan 2022:  $631,482.70
Feb 2022:  $622,604.09
Mar 2022:  $629,602.05

Based on some stuff we have going on plus the current stock market outlook, I think most of this year is going to be spent riding it out and not making much in gains.  Which is fine, it just makes it less interesting to see what the NW is at the end of the month.  Which as so much of ours is based on a farm and emergency fund/cash, it's slowly turning into more of a math exercise than something interesting to see.

April 2022:  $615,479.97
May 2022:  $619,678.03
June 2022:  $594,951.26

Well that's not particularly fun.  Just waiting out the markets mostly, in total all investment accounts have dropped $61,000 this year including our contributions each month.  Ouch.  That's nearly 20%!  No hesitation in continuing to invest, but much less fun to do so now lol.  Savings are also down a few thousand; expensive part of the year.  But our farm will have some government funds unexpectedly coming to it in July, so hopefully we will get a large loan paydown that will jump us up in NW again, and get us in better position on our loans!  Paying off the farm's line of credit, and paying off a decent chunk of the real estate loan, will feel good.

Oops! I forgot to update until now! It was not as exciting a prospect as in some other months haha

Down $44,503.50 to $592,704. That's a 7% drop on the month and a 16% year-to-date (110k) decline

Oh well! We'll get there eventually :)

I'm not even bothering to look at the numbers right now. The total net worth is still close to 900k but the investments, my main criteria for FI, are down over $150k since first week of Jan.  I'm trying to channel the vibe of my spouse, who never looks at the market or paper losses. It's a good approach at this point.

I'm happy to see that there was some sort of glitch in Mint that corrected itself when I checked finally and our investments were never down that much, probably 90k at the lowest point. Currently down 50k for the year at 650k invested/990k total NW.

Finally an uptick in the markets this last week which puts us back to where we were on Jan 1st despite multiple contributions to the investments over the last 6 months. Continuing to draw down from the cash allocation until April 2023 when hopefully things will be in a better position.
