Ah, that investments/cash number is LOVELY.  There's something magical about $2,000 a month.  It seems like it's enough to live on...maybe not what I WANT to live on, but it seems like I COULD if I had too.  I know it could take a huge dive tomorrow (not that I'd know until the end of the month), but it's lovely today.

Net worth is clearly north of $1m now, and we even have more than $1m invested/investible, but still not debt free

So, net worth hits $1.5m for the first time.

August Update,  a little drop but still on track.  I'm changing my investing/FIRE plan a little. because I believe I'll have enough invested to be FI in 3 years without my home payment, I'm diverting my overtime money to my house payment while still maxing all investments (401k, IRA, HSA).  I should be able to have my house paid off in 3 years at age 49 and then we'll be FI.  The plan is not to fully retire and quit all jobs.  My wife will quit, I'll still work my job but without any overtime (luckily it's not mandatory), because I love my job, it pays good, has great benefits and I work 7 days on 7 days off so I have tons of time off to have fun and just LIVE LIFE.    Needless to say, I'm feeling great about all this.

Managed to barely stay above 500k NW this month.  I also need to come up with goal to reach 1M. I think if we coasted it would happen in 5 or 6 years.  Maybe we can push that down to 3 or 4 years.

First time posting here in this thread. With the stock market up and the insane job looks like a pretty healthy 4 month jump. Still cannot believe that my net worth has jumped $400000 in 3 years - this community has helped us do it. What does scare me is that I look at $1000 and I do not feel like it is a lot of money anymore. I am slacking in the saving so will post regularly to keep myself accountable.

I haven't been updating real estate values to market value in the last few years and there is now a ~30k discrepancy due to appreciation. rather than take it all in one month, I will be adding $3k/month to real estate asset values until those values match market values.

Optimistic / unlikely goal of 36 months to $1M (May 2022).  This assumes net worth growth continues on current exponential trend.
Optimistic projection of 50 months to $1M (July 2023).  This assumes steady 7% investment return and 3% wage growth with steady expenses.
Realistic projection of 60 months to $1M (May 2024).  This assumes steady 4% investment return and 3% wage growth with 1% expense growth.

I think I'll have to settle in for the long haul on this thread.

12/2018   $821K                      $964K   Slow and steady progress on the remodel. Thinking about selling a rental in 1stQ or 2ndQ 2019.

3/2019    $833K                      $977K     Just trim is left on the remodel. Rental house is on the market.

6/2019    $820K                     $953K      Had to buy a roof for the rental house. It now is under contract, though. Hope to close before the next quarterly update. Substituted real equity in the total now that we know the sale price for that one. (Zillow values still used for other properties)

9/2019      $832K         $977K      Closed on the rental house! So nice to be done. Paying off 0%CC bills related to our remodel. Flooring and trim are done. Just railings to go. Hiring out for that, they're tricky.... Final inspection hopefully before the next update.
