I am counting Investments and Emergency Fund as our true networth

07/14/2018 - $179,957 (when we joined personal capital)
01/01/2019 - $183,112
07/01/2019 - $244,273
01/01/2020 - $292,285
07/01/2020 - $301,867
01/01/2021 - $396,844 (Only 401ks and HSA's)
02/01/2021 - $424,746 (Investments and Emergency Fund)
03/01/2021 - $442,769 / $591,662 (Investments and Emergency Fund / Personal Capital Networth)

I figured we should include our emergency fund of $20k in our investments because its cash we could live on

I think Zillow home values are a little high so we may be in the ~$570k for PC Networth range, but i will take it

i opened a brokerage account last week to help grow the stash,

Welcome to all new folks

Thank you all for the warm welcome! 3/1 numbers are in - had a bonus hit which certainly helped...

1/1/21 - $400,149
2/14/21 - $427,486 (+$27,337)
3/1/21 - $443,490 (+$43,341)

At the current savings rate, plus some anticipated bonuses, we should be able to hit our $500,000 goal by October (want to hit that target before hitting the big 30). Looks like we need to average $7,064 per month, which is a little less than what we've been saving in cash (house purchase coming soon), not including 401(k) contributions, so fingers crossed this pattern continues!

Progress feels like it has been slow recently but we are still climbing.  Although our new rental property cash flowed well last month, it was offset but the wife losing work due to covid.  Should be getting some extra cash this month from tax returns, work bonus, and work from my side-job paying out.

Mar 2021 $425k

I'll think I'll graduate to the next thread this year which feels pretty incredible. I feel like market gains are making more of a difference than my contributions at this point.

@Tigerpine - Maxed 401k and Roth IRAs for both of us. Then took 30k we had in savings and started putting it into individuals stocks that were tanking at the start of the pandemic. Sold our house in April 2020 and took another 90k or so of the proceeds and also put that into individual stocks. We still hold all of these stocks today which vaulted us last year and in the past month to where we're at today as the market recovered. When the market moves we see very heavy swings (good and bad) in our account because of all the individual holdings we have.

Bought new house via VA loan (no down payment) which allowed the proceeds of our house sale to be used towards paying off debt (60k+) and heavy investing.

I've been tracking our monthly progress for the past 4+ years in our journal - https://forum.mrmoneymustache.com/journals/journey-to-100k-net-worth-and-beyond/msg2801208/#msg2801208

Hi all!

Making the jump up from the 100K to 250K thread.

I've broken out the numbers into individual and joint (with DW) net worth. We do not own a house (yet), so numbers reflect cash/equivalents and retirement accounts. Our only debt is whatever is currently on our credit cards, which gets paid off each month. Below are our numbers, dating back to when we first joined the last thread. Initially it was my own journey, but at this stage in my marriage it made sense to report the joint numbers which I had already been tracking.

                  Solo NW      Joint NW
4/30/2020 -       101,897        203,198
5/31/2020 -       109,544        218,023
6/30/2020 -       114,288        227,585
7/31/2020 -       117,338        236,196
8/31/2020 -       128,213        251,254
9/30/2020 -       125,543        246,779
10/31/2020 -     130,200        251,727
11/30/2020 -     141,260        266,097
12/31/2020 -     147,153        271,221
1/31/2020 -       155,099       282,090
2/28/2020 -   163,308       285,823

Ho hum.

May 2017: CHF 231'000
June 2017: CHF 235'000

As I paid CHF 2'700 in taxes and the mortgage (CHF 1'380) for the last three months was due I'm satisfied.

July 2017: CHF 243'000 (that was a good month)
August 2017: CHF 247000
September 2017: CHF 256000

I can start the next race.

We are now at CHF 380000.

At the end of 2019 we reached 400'000 CHF. I hope to reach 500'000 at the end of this year, but it will be difficult and probably take a little bit longer. We will see.
It only took about 2 months longer than expected. Today I looked at all the accounts and we reached 514000 CHF networth. So onwards to the next race.

Nov 20, 2019 -- $113,800
January 15, 2020 -- $120,900
February 15, 2020 -- $136,916
March 17, 2020 -- $65,556
April 15, 2020 -- $97,329
May 15, 2020 -- $106,497
June 15, 2020 -- $144,753
July 16, 2020 -- $168,424
August 15, 2020 -- $176,358
September 15, 2020 -- $212,832
October 15, 2020 -- $199,625
November 15, 2020 -- $225,026
December 15, 2020 -- $248,842
January 15, 2021 -- $302,111
February 15, 2021 -- $307,205
March 15, 2021 -- $327,076

No clue how I am 20k higher than last month, but I'll take it. I've got a contractor hired to do some major renovation work on my house, so I'm about to take a 150k+ hit. The house should come up in value by about that much though (It's severely depreciated by 40 years of poor maintenance from the previous owners), so I'm optimistic. Plus I'll be able to househack with it, so I'm calling it an investment!

Oh shit, I kind of looked up and then realized that I've graduated out of the 100k-250k class.  Hurrah?!

Started 2021 off with 257k
As of March 2021, I'm at 267k.

It feels especially strange because I'm currently self employed and my business isn't generating enough income (yet) to quite cover my living expenses.  And yet, my NW still went up 10% last year, and hopefully will go up again this year (especially as my business starts to pay me a livable wage.)  Thank you, investments!

Welcome to the 250-500k class @Fish Sweet

1/01/21 - $400,149
2/14/21 - $427,486 (+$27,337)
3/01/21 - $443,490 (+$43,341)
3/19/21 - $451,670 (+$51,521)

Doubt we're going to be able to keep up this pace (been averaging $20,000 per month for the last 2.5 months), but hoping we can graduate to the next class come October.

Things have a habit of bouncing back from crashes pretty quickly anyway.

Just gives you an opportunity to accumulate.

I'm right there with you! I just hit $440K and have been trending $15-20K a month. I'm counting down the days to the next race.

First number is retirement savings & other long term investments, second is total NW including cash savings and real estate equity. I'm focused on retirement only for this challenge rather than total NW.

December 2019: $292,062 (total NW $423,991)
December 2020: $398,408 (total NW $572,704)
January 2021: $413,029 (total NW $584,337)
February 2021: $420,000 (total NW $593,792)
March 2021: $431,239 (total NW $589,008)

MARCH UPDATE

08/01/20: $253,789
09/01/20: $257,810
10/01/20: $256,193
11/01/20: $255,810
12/01/20: $273,815
01/01/21: $276,958
02/01/21: $286,621
03/01/21: $290,643
04/01/21: $311,128

The largest increase I’ve seen since tracking net worth, can be attributed to a large tax return and market gains. Very excited by the momentum I’ve been seeing in my investment accounts. I’m currently on pace to hit my year end goal of 355,000, with a projected monthly gain of 5k.

Pension rollover hasn't come through yet. 20k of investment growth in one month is pretty good though.

Edit: I forgot that the stimulus was this month lol. That went to my online savings so that we can replace one of our vehicles soon.

Hi all, first time in this group. Just crossed a quarter million late last month. Totals below are first of month totals.

Net worth consists of equity portfolio, two rental properties, and cash (checking/savings). Liabilities are month-to-month credit card (PIF every month), two mortgages on rental properties, and what’s left of my wife’s student loans.

2019
January $87k
February $95k
March $95k
April $98
May $95
June $104
July $106
August $115
September $118
October $134
November $136
December $143

2020
January $153 (Got back on YNAB after a few years off - this, along with market tailwinds made 2020 an amazing year)
February $159
March $152 (Market crash and start of recovery)
April $172
May $187
June $187 (Bought a 2012 Toyota Sienna for $8,200)
July $202
August $206
September $207
October $215
November $233
December $234

2021
January $241
February $246
March $255

APR2021 $267k

Stimmy money gave a solid 7k lift, and the 6k engine rebuild I had saved up for will now be invested instead of spent this month. Things are looking up. I’m thinking $300k is in reach by the end of the year if the stock/housing markets don’t take a dump.

Hello all! our household hit $250k during March and are excited to start the next leg of our journey! It took 20 months to go from $100-$250k, and current projections show a little over three years to hit the next milestone.

I am counting Investments and Emergency Fund as our true networth

07/14/2018 - $179,957 (when we joined personal capital)
01/01/2019 - $183,112
07/01/2019 - $244,273
01/01/2020 - $292,285
07/01/2020 - $301,867
01/01/2021 - $396,844 (Only 401ks and HSA's)
02/01/2021 - $424,746 (Investments and Emergency Fund)
03/01/2021 - $442,769 / $591,662 (Investments and Emergency Fund / Personal Capital Networth)

I figured we should include our emergency fund of $20k in our investments because its cash we could live on

I think Zillow home values are a little high so we may be in the ~$570k for PC Networth range, but i will take it

i opened a brokerage account last week to help grow the stash,

Welcome to all new folks

04/01/2021 - $461,404.23 / $609,137
