It has been a while since I posted (almost two years) Oddly enough, not a ton has changed as it was the peak trough and now almost back to where I was. I am now self-employed so will have to work on creating a 401k mechanism to contribute more than than the $7500 max on an IRA. Here are the old numbers with latest amount.

I am hoping to finish 2023 north of $400k. Target now looks like 2025. My original post was 401k total only so now I will have to make that IRA. I sold a house and am now renting until the market goes down. I have $330k for the new house purchase, so technically I have graduated, but I will still stay put until the new house purchase or the IRA exceeds the total.

A few thousand more dumped into the same rental property that's cost me nearly $10k this year already. This is getting really old, but I think I'm hopefully getting to a point where there isn't much else to replace...

Net worth consists of equity portfolio, two rental properties, and cash (checking/savings). Liabilities are month-to-month credit card (PIF every month), two mortgages on rental properties, and what’s left of my wife’s student loans.

I've been holding back in the previous race for a few months, just because I felt odd having nearly half of my investments tied up in CDs... But then I also felt strange having $280k invested in a race from 100 to 250...

Another not great month. I'd say that at least the left-most number stayed the same, but I also know that's just because the annual homeowner's and auto insurance bills won't hit until later this week, lol. On the bright side, got my health insurance quote for next year and it's actually going to be a few dollars per paycheck cheaper than last year after taking into consideration the increased premium passthrough vs. the increase in the premiums.

Have been missing a few updates, had a baby earlier this year, had stopped investing once I found out I was pregnant and started saving in money market fund instead (yielding 5+%), for the medical expenses plus now thinking about home buying. Then wasn't sure about updating this since a little over $100k is in money market and if we use it for down payment then that will bring me back down much lower. Also in these number a much larger then expected bonus earlier this year- lucky for me. Many changes since my last update, but I've been hunkering down since going back to work, with a renewed FIRE goal now that I have a kid! I've been bringing my lunch every day since going back to work, and although it doesn't offset the cost of child care in the slightest, every penny counts here. Cheers to all for a good rest of the year!

Edit to add: I'm going to move to the next thread, see you all there soon!

I found MMM in early 2015, had maybe $10k NW, took me 4.5 years to go from 10-100, and now 4.25 years to go from 100-250, if I can keep slowly accelerating things and get through this race in 4 years or less that would be great.

It's been a few months since I've updated here - we've been spending pretty aggressively and haven't been able to ramp up our investments as we'd originally hoped to earlier this year. We were super surprised to login to investments to see we somehow reached the goal with the ongoing auto-savings we have going on in the background (and I assume the stock market must be rebounding but I haven't been paying attention). I'll hang around here for a month or so to see if it sticks.
