I’m jumping in this thread with a few ideas and thoughts in mind. I don’t plan to add house equity or extras like that. I’m not even going to add the spouse’s 401k. I’ll be solely tracking
My 401k and my Roth IRA Numbers to go toward the goal of $250k. I may add the savings account numbers later, but most of that pays toward the last of my mortgage and a basement remodel right now.

My stats:

Jul2019 — $101953
Aug2019 — $106277
Sep2019 — $111050
Oct2019 — $114791
Nov2019 — $120215
Dec2019 — $122692

Numbers updated thru the last day of the month

Have mostly been a lurker on this thread, but I wanted to post that I graduated! Thanks to an employer contribution that posts at the end of the year I am now at a net worth of $265,000

My official graduation date was probably sometime in November, which is amazing considering I got married and went on a honeymoon that month, neither of which were particularly mustashian. I really thank everyone in this group for keeping my fundamentals strong during a spendy year. See you in the next thread!

Just graduated from the race to 100k thread, love starting the new year off by hitting that mark. It might be a stretch, but my goal is to graduate from this thread in 2 years. I count all investments, homes, vehicles, and cash in my numbers.

I just crossed $100k so I'm gettin' in!

I think the motivation to reach $250k will already be there for me, but hey this will keep me accountable.
It's been one year since my last post in this thread (seems most of you post more often, maybe I should do that...)
anyway, I'm now at $157,512 per PersonalCapital. woo!

I'm back and I've got $250k net worth!

About $230k invested (no mortgage, house etc.,)
I have a cheap car worth about 3k and a pension worth probably $20k in today's dollars but I'm not including that.

Also, probably the most interesting piece of my financial picture is that this past year my net worth grew by more than my gross salary (savings + market gains)  Pretty crazy.

That was a great year!  I paid off my medical debt (all that’s left is the mortgage), contributed over $13k to my 401k, maxed out my HSA contribution, and contributed more to my brokerage so it would grow in the market.  And the market grew!  All that hard work paid off with a leap of over $39,000 in one year.  Here’s to another prosperous year!

I believe this is the hardest one b/c it represents more than a doubling.  0-25k, 25-50k, 50-100k, 100-250k, 250-500k, 500k - 1M, etc. are doublings except 100-250k.  It makes sense, but I think makes it one of the harder goals.  Frugality can really help achieve those first few levels, but it diminishes in the later tiers; market returns start to be the key driver.  (of course income increases always help and you can be more frugal up to a point, but if income is somewhat maxed and frugality has expenses down to a max low value then market will drive the rest.)

Throwing my hat into the ring... just crossed 100k in December 2019. As of today probably around 103k. Looking forward to a bonus in late Feb to help boost, but I want to purchase 2 depreciating assets later this year - a cargo trailer to convert into an RV/travel trailer, and a motorcycle to put in it, so I can be a digital nomad and live the RV / motorcycle lifestyle for the remainder of my working years (about 9-10 years until FIRE).

End of year goal is 150k net worth, which should be doable, except for the purchases and a potential job change this year. I might lose my 401k 100% match up to the first 6%. But I'll reach for 150k this year anyway!

6/30/19: $106,071
7/31/19: $112,395
8/31/19: $116,527
9/30/19: $124,973

12/31/19: $150,705
1/31/20: $163,400 (+12695)

Bonus helped us out this month. On the flip side, we have large expenses planned for the next couple of months so we won't be able to save as much. Good start to the year, though.

For context: I'm 30 in a HCOL city. I'm married, but these are my own numbers since we keep our finances separate. Includes cash, retirement, and credit cards, which are used for normal expenses and paid off in full every month.

3/18: $48,533.91 (found MMM and started tracking)
3/19: $83,762.93
8/19: $101,572.33 (graduated to this thread)
9/19: $104,368.69 (+2,796.36, +2.75%)
10/19: $107,279.56 (+2,910.87, +2.79%)
11/19: $111,107.47 (+3,827.91, +3.57%)
12/19: $112,883.69 (+1,776.22, +1.60%)
1/20: $117,811.45 (+4,927.26, +4.37%)
2/20: $124,417.62 (+6,606.17, +5.61%)

Extra paycheck this month really helped! Chugging along.

Jan2020 — $120521
Numbers updated thru the last day of the month

Looks like I had my first loss in nearly a year. I should have been higher but I’m sticking to my plan and avoid emotional moves with the market. I need to rethink large case viruses like SARS and Conorvirus.  They tend to effect the market significantly. I almost went to safety to avoid any losses, but it got me this time.  Something to keep in mind for the future I suppose.

I need to rethink large case viruses like SARS and Conorvirus.  They tend to effect the market significantly. I almost went to safety to avoid any losses, but it got me this time.  Something to keep in mind for the future I suppose.
I couldn't disagree more. The market barely moved at all.
