I’m jumping in this thread with a few ideas and thoughts in mind. I don’t plan to add house equity or extras like that. I’m not even going to add the spouse’s 401k. I’ll be solely tracking
My 401k and my Roth IRA Numbers to go toward the goal of $250k. I may add the savings account numbers later, but most of that pays toward the last of my mortgage and a basement remodel right now.

My stats:

Jul2019 — $101953
Aug2019 — $106277
Sep2019 — $111050
Oct2019 — $114791
Nov2019 — $120215

[/quote]

Numbers updated thru the last day of the month

11//2018   $100,130.27
12//2018   $97,696.71
1//2019   $107,673.20
2//2019   $116,133.78
3//2019   $119,538.07
4//2019   $127,526.50

8//2019   $138,441.20
9//2019   $144,935.02
10//2019   $155,176.79 - 66% savings rate for the month. Overall good month. This ball just keeps on rolling faster and faster!

Expenses - fancy restaurants in Seattle during a grad school conference, and paid $300 to repair our muffler on our car. Car is worth around $1200 if we sold it today I think, but we're just committed to driving it into, and through the ground at this point. We treat it like a work truck. If we were *real* mustachian's we'd just sell the damn thing but we use it most weekends to visit family that's about a 30 minute drive away.

If market is OK we should end the year around $170k. Starting to get some anxiety with our level of investments in the market but just shooting to stay the course at this point. Continuing to work and VTSAX and chill for the most part. Should get $2500 tuition reimbursement from work this month which will be really nice!

Newest Mustachian thing I've been into lately is buying used clothes that are damaged and then repairing them with my sewing machine. I bought a torn merino wool Icebreaker tshirt -- around $70 new -- for $14 on Ebay including shipping. And sewed a patch in it. It's getting cold this month and been eyeing some sort of down jacket now that I'm using an electric bike to get around I don't stay as warm! Trying to find a nice used one on eBay.

That's super cool. Good for the planet too. I find I have such pride of ownership when I repair or maintain something with my hands.

A little late this month but....
11/7/19 NW: $173,838 - Projected Graduation Goal NW (12/31/2020): $270,847 (?!)
Note - in Oct I got a much larger year end bonus than expected. Also counted my extra paycheck (3 paycheck month in Nov) in the current NW. The increase seems crazy and I feel like I'm missing something but....maybe my investments are doing work?!

Thought I would join this race just to keep me pushing to break the $250,000.00 barrier.  I will track it as 401k only and breaking through is long overdue.  I expect to bust through March 1, 2019.  My 401k savings is abysmal right now, but getting better each quarter.

New here and this challenge is inspiring.

Net worth:

11/01/19:  $233,622

We have a good shot of hitting $250k by January 1st as long as our investments keep doing well and we get decent holiday bonuses.  Can't wait!

Getting close to the end here ($246k as of this morning) but I've seen many of you bounce right around the $250k mark for several months so I'm cautious.

We're in the same boat. After finally compiling all of our financial accounts, we found out that we had crossed the 100K net worth threshold. We're still a little stunned. A decade ago, our home value had basically collapsed, husband was laid off, and I was a grad student. While we had no consumer debt then, we had almost no savings and a majorly underwater mortgage. I can only imagine what we can do going forward, now that we're scrutinizing everything closely.

April 2019: $115,953

November 2019: $133,268 in total net worth [investments + bank accounts + home value, minus remaining mortgage and current credit card balances (which are paid in full every month)].

More stunning (to me): this week, we crossed the 100K line in investments alone: $100,613.

Onward and upward. Thanks to all the good people here who have given so much helpful advice!

I knew i was getting real close, unfortunately no celebrations yet as I just added up my investments and am at $249894.69 as of today. My post-tax 401k will show up on Saturday or Sunday and assuming a flat market tomorrow I should make it out of this thread for the first (and hopefully last) time.

Fingers crossed!

11/28/19     252,000

I'm graduated!  Not really sure how we increased so much in 2.5 months, as our contributions were not that much.  I haven't really been paying attention.  Thanks all to the encouragement and good luck to you all!
Congrats! See you soon.

Goal of $250,000 by Oct of 2020.

Jan 1/16 - $105,809.20
Apr 1/16 - $108,749.60
Jul 1/16 - $117,155.44
Oct 1/16 - $118,878.00
Jan 1/17 - $126,041.95
Apr 1/17 - $138,777.41
Jul 1/17 - $144,570.34
Oct 1/17 - $152,266.77
Jan 1/18 - $164,613.88
Apr 1/18 - $174,725.03
July 1/18 - $188,096.17
Oct 1/18 - $191,853.58
Jan 1/19 - $183,804.03
Feb 1/19 - $192,428.69
Mar 1/19 - $197,862.10
Apr 1/19 - $204,808.88
May 1/19 - $208,362.35
Jun 1/19 - $201,804.03
July 1/19 - $208,148.78
Aug 1/19 - $207,281.37
Sept 1/19 - $208,499.76
Oct 1/19 - $211,674.53
Nov 1/19 - $212,459.24

Dec 1/19 - $215,264.49

Terrible month spending wise.  My 20 year old car died (broken frame due to rust); could probably have repaired it by welding in new parts, but not worth it.  So, I bought a 10 year old car.  After car, taxes, registration, timing belt, new tires, etc., I spent a little over $7,000 out of my emergency fund (which is part of the totals in the values above). Yet somehow, I still came out in the black?!?!  I calculated that my return for this month was 8.96%.

This includes all our retirement and personal accounts for assets. It includes our credit cards, student loan, and mortgage for liabilities. It DOES NOT include our home value.

April 2018 - $52,917.42
May 2018  - $58,400.19
June 2018 - $59,686.34
July 2018  - $65,798.53
Aug 2018 - $72,231.70
Sept 2018 - $76,755.71
Oct 2018 -  $64,348.89
Nov 2018 - $70,839.76
Dec 2018 - $58,351.73
Jan 2019 - $78,256.31
Feb 2019 - $87,795.97
Mar 2019 - $67,121.29
Apr 2019 - $75,155.85
May 2019 - $63,243.68
June 2019 - $79,359.89
July 2019 - $84,352.69
August 2019 - $81,608.49
September 2019 - $87,380.98
October 2019 - $93,328.51
November 2019 - $103,159.50

And so it begins. Another journey. This one will move more quickly than the 10k-100k I believe with the power of compounding!

Big saving month and an even bigger month in the market.

Welcome, most definitely possible. $150k over 24 months is just over $6k increase per month. You will see on the google sheet that plenty of people have graduated in that timeframe.

It certainly picks up between market helping out (usually) and being locked into the automated savings with opportunities to top it up whenever you get pay increases and/or bonuses.

Congrats on the huge $100k milestone too!

Took a look at your net worth sheet. You project the number of months remaining but based on November growth it becomes much more attractive than the 5.5 years. Are you planning on staying in the Netherlands post-ER?

I knew i was getting real close, unfortunately no celebrations yet as I just added up my investments and am at $249894.69 as of today. My post-tax 401k will show up on Saturday or Sunday and assuming a flat market tomorrow I should make it out of this thread for the first (and hopefully last) time.

Fingers crossed!

Dec-19: $249741.51 = $14397.95 HSA + $6976.56 VG Taxable + $228367.10 Fidelity (Taxable, Roth IRA and 401k).

Did not make it but ecstatic with the progress since some RSUs will vest tomorrow that will put me over the top by a few k. This number also doesn't include any of our equity in vehicles, emergency fund etc so I will consider myself unofficially graduated.
