Cool, welcome, what kind of side hustles are working for you?

Thanks. I like Prolific and UserTesting; can make about £100 a week (UK) doing these, so it's nothing huge but certainly helps!

Wow you make a hundred quid a week from these? I thought they were the kind of thing where you fill out a hundred surveys and get paid 25p!

Hello hello, I've graduated from the 10k-100k thread. Excited to be here (and in some disbelief). Just tried and failed to make a table to keep my records a bit neater but it was all over the place, so will have to go with a truncated version instead :D

Just read over the last 10 pages or so - some of y'all savings rates are astounding! Very inspiring everyone!

Look forward to getting stuck in!

+ 1.401 €

A not-so-good-month. You guessed it, the problem was the losses at the end of the month.
I will survive...

I am moving in with my girlfriend, this will be interesting.

I include money that is invested for retirement accounts , but not value of savings for specific items (car insurance for the year etc.) or checking accounts as it is money I will likely use this month. I am hoping to hit 135k by end of year.

Net worth:
2018:                         2019                2020             2021
Jan                          $27,100           $45,839         $89,090
Feb                          $29,443           $43,345         $86,608
Mar                         $31,603            $39,081         $98,860
Apr    $13,200          $33,959           $47,551         $106,604
May                         $33,933           $51,613         $107,294
Jun                          $37,928           $56,760         $111,827
Jul                           $39,736           $61,567         $116,999
Aug  $22,800           $39,918            $68,102        $122,191
Sep  $23,645           $34,179            $68,212        $121,891
Oct   $23,658           $38,091           $68,976         $130,532
Nov  $23,948           $39,867            $76,790
Dec  $23,960           $43836             $82,778

Nov2021: $133,719.97(+$3,187.69) Pretty close to my year end goal! Hopefully the market hold ☺

We spent way to much money this month. All of our christmas shopping should be done now though. So hopefully we will spend very little in december.

I'm excited to submit my first post to the forum!  On the one hand, we are late bloomers having first heard about the FIRE movement about a year ago at age 43.  On the other hand, we have been saving our whole lives, which has given us a bit of a head start.  We had been "investing" in life insurance and money market accounts and other types of CDs for years.  Over the last year, we have poured most of our liquid assets into an msci world ETF.  I will track our depot account level here.  We are well on our way to 250k and I'm happy to have this chance for financial independence before the age of 67!  Looking forward to seeing everyone's progress on this board!

@jdhansen @JAYSLOL  Thank you for the welcome!

19th October, 2021 - 200,000 EUR
03rd November, 2021 - 204,755 EUR
01st December, 2021 - 208,169 EUR
Goal: 300,000 EUR in April 2024

I was contemplating the saying, "The harder I work, the luckier I get."  That, or similar, was the mantra I grew up with.  Sometimes I have the urge to "work harder" on FIRE.  Actually, there is nothing to do but set the target contributions and wait.

Yeah I usually make about £10 per day or so. User testing is £7 per task so if you qualify for a few in a day, you're winning.

2020

Well, 2020 is done and I only managed about half the usual increase compared to my last few years, but at least I’m still heading in the right direction.  Hoping to get to 160 by the end of 2021

So back in Jan I set myself the goal to go from$128k to $160k invested net worth by the end of 2021, wasn’t sure if I could do it, but the markets have been very kind and I’ve been saving like crazy, and today it finally happened just in time for the end of the year.  Now I get to ponder a goal for 2022.  I’m thinking $200k, which will be very hard, but I’m going for it

I include money that is invested for retirement accounts , but not value of savings for specific items (car insurance for the year etc.) or checking accounts as it is money I will likely use this month. I am hoping to hit 135k by end of year.

Net worth:
2018:                         2019                2020             2021
Jan                          $27,100           $45,839         $89,090
Feb                          $29,443           $43,345         $86,608
Mar                         $31,603            $39,081         $98,860
Apr    $13,200          $33,959           $47,551         $106,604
May                         $33,933           $51,613         $107,294
Jun                          $37,928           $56,760         $111,827
Jul                           $39,736           $61,567         $116,999
Aug  $22,800           $39,918            $68,102        $122,191
Sep  $23,645           $34,179            $68,212        $121,891
Oct   $23,658           $38,091           $68,976         $130,532
Nov  $23,948           $39,867            $76,790        $133,720
Dec  $23,960           $43836             $82,778

Dec2021: $139,448.69(+$5,728.72) I have met my yearly goal. Most gains are due to the stock market, as the gains are more than my take home pay this year.

Hi all! Joining this race even though I've been over $100k for a while now. I recently moved across the country and haven't spent as much time on the forums, but glad to be back. Good to see some familiar users from the 10-100k race :) which I technically crossed over in August or so... when I was tracking only investments. Now for this chart I'm including all liquid net worth (so basically adding in emergency fund and other cash).

Loved the format that I saw another user use, so I'm going to steal it.

Liquid net worth, measured at month end

No idea when I project to get to $250k, but if job promotions align right and my wife and I keep a good savings rate, it could happen in 2023 at some point.

143.712 €
-981 €

While I got a small bonus and I managed to invest 50% despite my move, I end up with less NW than last month. Mostly due to losses in crypto.
In 2021 I was able to increase my NW by ~40.000€. I saved roughly 26.500€ and the other 13.500€ were market gains. If you think about it... I had more than 1.000€ of gains per month, that is more money than many people, even in Germany, have available per month... That is amazing.

The next year my monthly savings rate will probably decrease, I hit my goal of 50% (55%, to be precisely), but now I feel like I should prioritize building a reasonable emergency fund.
My remaining savings will go mostly into paying off my flat (fixed rates...) and crypto. I don't trust the stock markets currently... top is in ;-).

Not really, but my best chance for a really early retirement is crypto. I would feel comfortable with crypto around 30% of my invested assets, currently it is below 15%.

My stock picks are mostly duds. I think I'll sell them off and move the money to other assets, probably ETFs. I will only keep stocks I am really comfortable with.

Back on track to reach my grad goal on time thanks to that nice little Santa Claus rally.  I'm somewhat surprised that 2021's increase was actually less than 2020's, but I did work a ton more OT in 2020.  However, my NW did increase by more than my base salary so I can live with that.

Apr 2011:  $49k
Jan 2013:  $80K
Jan 2014:  $97k

Dec 2021: $234,136

1 Jan 22: $241,685

Happy New Year! Looks like 2021 was a stellar year for my accounts overall with gains of $41k! I try not to set too many goals and just let the magic happen, but looks like I'll be hitting 250 in the next month or so. If anyone wants to take over this tracker, feel free! It's pretty low maintenance and I just added new columns to it last month, so there's little to do other than make sure it gets shared.

I include money that is invested for retirement accounts , but not value of savings for specific items (car insurance for the year etc.) or checking accounts as it is money I will likely use this month. I am hoping to hit 135k by end of year.

Jan 2022 - £91,915 - eeeeek I've dipped below the threshold. I could probably get creative with my accounting and find another 8k in cash that I've never included before but that would feel like cheating.

Will you guys let me still hang out here please?

Dec 2021  $221,090

Jan 2022 $214,407

Ouch, markets going down is a bit of a new experience but we will ride this out and keep saving. Just means I get to hang out with this group for a little bit longer than before.

On the positive front just got word my promotion went through and we should be able to ramp up the savings a bit more once the new pay scale kicks in.

@Stubblestache You can stay as long as you like.  I'm sure the markets will recover or your natural savings rate will get you back over the threshold sooner than you think.

July 2018 - £20,385
 - Annual gain 2018 - £4,119

Jan 2019 - £25,295
Nov 2019 - £38,588
 - Annual gain 2019 - £13,293

Jan 2020 - £43,260
Aug 2020 - £50,172
Dec 2020 - £62,638
 - Annual gain 2020 - £19,108

Jan 2021 - £64,542
Dec 2021 - £105,802 (graduated to next thread!)
 - Annual gain 2021 - £41,278

Jan 2022 - £91,915 - eeeeek I've dipped below the threshold. I could probably get creative with my accounting and find another 8k in cash that I've never included before but that would feel like cheating.

Will you guys let me still hang out here please?

Well, you still qualify if you converted into dollars, so you definitely belong here

25% Savings Rate

Uff.
The worst thing is that I don't have the funds to invest more in Bitcoin.
Thinking about shifting funds from my underperforming stocks towards my uninvested account, so I have a little bit of reserves be able to react to such great buying opportunities.

I also got a raise of 11.5% (starting in April). That's very nice and "needed".

Savings rate just 25% this month. But currently not my focus.

Worst month in a while.  Not totally due to market movement though.  There was a project at the house that I'd been saving for for awhile and that finally got done this month.  If I can get all the paperwork in place then I'll get half of it back on my state taxes next year.  Grad goal is looking unlikely unless there is huge upward movement this month.  It is what it is.
