Wow... Stepped away for what seemed like a few weeks and it's already 2021! It's no coincidence that my missing time started right when the lockdowns hit and I had to redo all of my teaching to make this new situation work.

Anyways, we've been steadily saving and the market continues its upward climb....

I'm switching to just a monthly calculation at the end of the month versus spamming this thread every paycheck. January was a 3 paycheck month, so I got a big bump. It looks like I jumped about $8,080.79 from the end of December to today, which is 6.2% of my net worth. Not bad! I'm over halfway to my Q1 goal, so it definitely looks like I will make it with some room to spare, barring major market volatility. I'm also really happy to have most of my emergency fund built back up, and am expecting a pretty fat tax refund from the IRS next month, since I focused on getting my AGI way down for 2020 and filed early.

Goals Breakdown
Q4 2020: $130k Reached 12/30!
Q1 2021: $145k
Q2 2021: $160k
Q3 2021: $175k

I am going to be tracking our investments , outside retirement accounts only. Money in retirement accounts can't be accessed for a few years yet, it's growing steadily so I'll just let it be.

Anyway, here we go:

December 21 2020 - $140,390

January 31, 2021 - $137, 700 ( went down due to individual share holding)

Apr 1 - 98.6 (-11,800)

Mostly market gains this month, but I’ve spent a good chunk of January clearing out some clutter and selling things I don’t need which helped a bit too.
Goal for 2021 is to pass 160

Note: all numbers are from the 1st of the month. Only tracking investments, no savings, assets, etc.

Jan 2020: $100,566
Jan 2021: $215,994
Feb 2021: $228,464 (+12,470) [+5.77%]

Year-to-date change: (+$12,470) [+5.77%]

January was a bit of a rollercoaster. 100% of my "gains" came from contributions / speculation and 0% from growth - in fact if I was dependent on the market alone I'd be down a bit. The biggest push was some great news internally this last month that caused me to increase the value of my options. I expect another round of good news in a few weeks as our fiscal year ended on Sunday and I should know the year's final numbers soon. That should give me another nice boost in February (that plus a bonus I get either this month or next), but after that I'm not sure how the market is going to treat 2021. Biden isn't making any friends in the stock market and I made some big plays on oil last year.

Whatever happens, I'll keep with the plan - it's the only thing I've ever seen work and I have no reason to think a down month is something to be worried about.

Overview
                       2018                2019                2020                2021

October: $100,753
November: Forgot to check! ~$103,000
December: $110,900
January 2021: $115,301
February 2021: $126,120

~6,000 of this growth is from RSUs vesting this month. Very pleased with the progress!
Also had my first bank bonus churning experience. No direct deposits needed, but had to go to the branch to close the account after 90 days. Net bonus was $190. Still deciding if it was worth it haha

Another big boost this month. My employer deposited their annual contributions into my HSA and pension plus we're still saving a lot. But I'll be getting the second dose of the covid vaccine this month so I'll be headed back to in-person work more often next month. That means the kids will have to go back to daycare so we won't be able to save as much. But I still might graduate out of this thread by the end of the year, depending on how the markets behave, which is way sooner than I expected! And it's very nice to see progress like the fact that my monthly gain for January was almost half of my annual gain in 2019!

feb    $155,700    $382,600       $226,900

Debt went up because we refinanced our house and my husband bought (0% for 15 months on credit card) a gravel bike.

2019
January $87k
February $95k
March $95k
April $98
May $95
June $104
July $106
August $115
September $118
October $134
November $136
December $143

2020
January $153 (Got back on YNAB after a few years off - this, along with market tailwinds made 2020 an amazing year)
February $159
March $152 (Market crash and start of recovery)
April $172
May $187
June $187 (Bought a 2012 Toyota Sienna for $8,200)
July $202
August $206
September $207
October $215
November $233
December $234

2021
January $241

February $246

Was hoping to hit $250k by the end of January (and hit it for a day!), but took a small hit in the market right as the month closed out, as well as the Zestimate on my rental properties dropping a couple thousand.

Still, making progress and chugging along. Will likely cross $250 by the end of this month as paychecks and tax refund roll in. I have a ~$6k engine rebuild on my Jeep coming in April, but hope to have enough clearance to stay above $250k by that time.

Almost there!!

I’m jumping in this thread with a few ideas and thoughts in mind. I don’t plan to add house equity or extras like that. I’m not even going to add the spouse’s 401k. I’ll be solely tracking
My 401k and my Roth IRA Numbers to go toward the goal of $250k. I may add the savings account numbers later, but most of that pays toward the last of my mortgage and a basement remodel right now.

My stats:

Jul2019 — $101953
Aug2019 — $106277
Sep2019 — $111050
Oct2019 — $114791
Nov2019 — $120215
Dec2019 — $122692
Jan2020 — $120521
Feb2020 — $123625
Mar2020 — $124248
Apr2020 — $133240
May2020 — $145475
Jun2020 — $143581
Jul2020 — $151652
Aug2020 — $155546
Sep2020 — $149687
Oct2020 — $161159
Nov2020 — $182840
Dec2020 — $197090
Jan2021 — $197402

Numbers updated thru the last day of the month.
January was doing well for me.  And then last week of Jan happened, and I took a hit which dropped me back to pretty much the same total from the end of December.  Luckily there was a great bounce back on the first week of February, but I’m not counting that chicken until it hatches from the egg.

My unofficial goal is to pop up to $250k by the end of DEC 2021. It’s going to take some good gains and avoiding any larger drops.  I’m excited to see how 2021 goes.  The “meet my goal of 6% gains for the year” puts me at needing a total of around $230k.  Obviously I’m trying to pump that number up a little.  I’ll be happy to reach that goal, but very happy to reach the $250k.

Good luck to all

wow, I haven't updated here in ages! Here's the past 6 months:

Sep 20 120,976
Oct 20 121,341
Nov 20 123,130
Dec 20 129,299
Jan 21 131,476
Feb 21 132,776

I'm not setting any specific goals for myself this year. I'm looking to buy a new house but the market is absolutely nuts right now. So I'm just stashing away my savings... not doing much investing.

August 2020 - 101.700
Sept 2020    - 109.200 (+7,4%)
Oct 2020      - 111.200 (+1,8%)
Nov 2020     - 118.900 (+6,9%)
Dec 2020     - 124.300 (+4,5%)
Jan 2021      - 130.900 (+5,3%)
Feb 2021      - 134.300 (+2,6%)

Progress will go slower coming year. I'm only tracking investments and we're currently saving for our down payment and are lowering monthly investments.

Another crazy month! Markets and especially Cryptos are way up.
I moved money from the "to-be-invested" bucked into stock-picks and crypto. I also increased my ER fund (for emergencies and remodeling) from money my bank owed me. It's not part of my assets.

I added some projection to the table, base on 5% interest and constant savings.

+ 3.981 €

I moved the day of updating the numbers to the last day of the month (instead of the 15th). Otherwise calculating the saveing rate would get confusing, if I save additional money after the 15th but before the 1st...

Unfortunately, the new stats are lower than those two weeks ago. But still, a good month with a 60.1% savings rate :).

I got a $4.6K tax refund as a result of several different factors: I maxed my 401(k), which got my AGI below the threshold to get the rest of my $1,200.00 stimulus check, and purchased a new home which resulted in a lot of tax savings. I ended up putting the tax refund into my kitchen, and got a light reno completed including updated electrical/plumbing, installing a dishwasher (have not had one in years, will greatly increase value of unit when I move and rent it out), and reconfiguring the space to add a ton of counter and cabinet space. The progress is in my journal if anyone wants to see photos and eventual cost breakdowns.

I may not make my Q1 2021 goal since I am in between jobs and do not get paid until 4/1 (paid monthly, and my start date is 3/1). However, I hope that with my new job, I will be able to progress through this thread much faster than is anticipated below. Fingers crossed!

Goals Breakdown
Q4 2020: $130k Reached 12/30!
Q1 2021: $145k
Q2 2021: $160k
Q3 2021: $175k

Note: all numbers are from the 1st of the month. Only tracking investments, no savings, assets, etc.

Jan 2020: $100,566
Jan 2021: $215,994
Feb 2021: $228,464 (+12,470) [+5.77%]
Mar 2021: $241,785 (+13,321) [+5.83%]

Year-to-date change: (+$25,791) [+11.94%]

February turned out to be a great month for me financially. The biggest news is a significant raise to both my salary and my commission bonus. Beyond that, I'm also being offered more stock options in the company - the eventual sale of which is a big part of my FIRE timeline. This boost to my 2021 income means I should have a very easy time hitting both my savings goals for the year and my family's stretch goals. I am in an extremely lucky position and I don't take it for granted.

For the first two weeks of February, I thought I would break $250k, but the second two weeks weren't nearly as kind and I more or less stalled out. I don't think a major market correction is coming, so I'm pretty sure I'll Graduate in March or April. Graduating a full quarter early is a pretty exciting prospect! Regardless of that, I'm going to keep on keeping on. The market goes up and down month-over-month and day-over-day, but overall I expect the recovery to grow stronger as the stimulus passes the Senate and more vaccines go out. In the end, I am in an extremely good position for whatever the future brings.
