I’m jumping in this thread with a few ideas and thoughts in mind. I don’t plan to add house equity or extras like that. I’m not even going to add the spouse’s 401k. I’ll be solely tracking
My 401k and my Roth IRA Numbers to go toward the goal of $250k. I may add the savings account numbers later, but most of that pays toward the last of my mortgage and a basement remodel right now.

My stats:

Jul2019 — $101953
Aug2019 — $106277
Sep2019 — $111050
Oct2019 — $114791
Nov2019 — $120215
Dec2019 — $122692
Jan2020 — $120521
Feb2020 — $123625
Mar2020 — $124248
Apr2020 — $133240
May2020 — $145475
Jun2020 — $143581
Jul2020 — $151652

Numbers updated thru the last day of the month.  Nice increase!  Roughly a $50k increase in 12 months.

Nice! I am like you, I don't plan to add all that other stuff until I graduate from this thread. If there isn't at least 250K in investments for me, the other stuff is too volatile and it'll leave me feeling disheartened watching it month-over-month.

5/1/2015     $4,419.53
5/1/2016     $15,689.46
5/1/2017     $34,125.20
5/1/2018     $51,663.60
5/1/2019     $64,340.45
5/1/2020     $106,341.84

6/1/2020     $113,372.31  (+$7030.47  or +6.61%)
7/1/2020     $120,466.16  (+$7093.85  or +6.26%)
8/3/2020     $127,953.51  (+$7487.46  or  +6.22%)

I got to zero out the liabilities column from the first paycheck of July and had a good bit of extra money in the second paycheck, so I was really hoping to hit $130k, but I'll take it.  This is the first time that I really feel like compound interest is really starting to show.

We are at 191,094 in networth. Much more than that in assets, but trying to pay off some debt and such currently.

It would be a stretch but I'm hoping to get to $250k by end of year...

Hi everyone! I'm jumping into this thread a few months late. We hit 100k back in April but I haven't been closely tracking finances for the past several months.

About me: I'm a married 38 y.o. female and work as an academic scientist. I'm including our combined finances plus our home equity in our net worth. We live in a MCOL city and have 2 little kiddos. When I first discovered MMM, I tried to live as a pretty strict Mustachian, but have definitely loosened up my purse strings a bit in recent months. However, I'd say that my family is pretty frugal compared to the average. We live in an old, small house, drive used cars and generally aren't big consumers.

Our biggest recent financial development: After getting furloughed during the shut down, my husband decided to permanently ditch his job and start his own business. We had to invest a few thousand in startup costs which explains our net loss back in June.

Looking forward to getting to know you all!

07/17/2020: $103,981.86 (+$0.00)
07/31/2020: $106,885.86 (+$2,904.00)
08/17/2020: $111,111.20 (+$4,225.34.00)

I went to the beach this past weekend and it was a great and fairly inexpensive way to reconnect with my family while keeping our distance. I bought a reusable cooler for $25 and will need to buy an umbrella eventually, but packing food and drinks from home made the trip fairly inexpensive. Other than that one outing, I have been spending minimally. I've still been eating out a bit more than I'd like to, but overall my spending has been in check and for items that I need. My dog is doing a lot better, my food expenses are fairly low since cutting animal products, and everything else has been going fairly well!

Projected Graduation date: December 2022

Prior Progress: Race from 10 to 100k!

If I were you I would have been really tempted to dig up 9 cents worth of change and get rid of it somehow, just so I could say my Net Worth was $111,111.11.   :D

I guess it is graduation day! I don’t normally post until the end of the quarter, but this is too good to wait. I know market fluctuation could bring it back down but I’m not worried. Just feels so good to be at this point. Sometimes it felt like it would never get here.

See everyone in the next thread.

Can't believe it. I guess this is the power of dollar cost averaging, especially when the market is going down (when COVID first hit). I did find a tweak i need to make in my calc - back when i was saving for a house down payment, extra money was going in Ally. Now the extra money is going in VTSAX, so i've been underestimating progress some by assuming lower returns! I'm going to stick around for 1 more month for good measure.

Hi all! Finally joining this thread after spending a few years in the 10K to 100K thread. Here's my history from that thread:

9/29/17 - $11,511
6/30/18 - $36,000
1/31/19 - $53,028
6/30/2019 - $75,757
12/31/2019 - $96,225
1/31/2020 - $96,048
2/29/2020 - $94,556
3/31/2020 - $92,438
4/30/2020 - $101,897

This was previously just my personal net worth, however with the graduation I've decided to move to household net worth, so Mrs. Fiction gets to join the fun too. It makes too much sense at this point, given how intertwined our finances have become.

Background - I'm 35 and my wife is 31. DD is two and we have another on the way this summer. Looking to buy a house around this time next year.

Total joint net worth as of 4/30/2020 is $203,198. We are debt-free outside of whatever is on our credit cards, which always get paid each month.

With some market cooperation, some inspiration and some hard work (and some luck!) We just might be able to graduate this thread by the end of the year.

Looking forward to following along with everyone's progress!

New Joint Tracker

                  Solo NW      Joint NW
4/30/2020 - 101,897        203,198
5/31/2020 - 109,544        218,023
6/30/2020 - 114,288        227,585
7/31/2020 - 117,338        236,196
8/31/2020 - 128,213        251,254

Well now! That happened a little faster than anticipated. I'll probably hang around this thread a little while longer. My wife is officially on maternity leave after the birth of our second child this month and who know's what will happen with the markets, so I don't want to leave this thread to quickly only to have to come right back!

Note: all numbers are from the 1st of the month. Only tracking investments, no savings, assets, etc.

Jan 2020: $100,566
Feb 2020: $107,987 (+7,421) [+7.38%]
Mar 2020: $96,513 (-11,474) [-10.62%]
Apr 2020: $90,626 (-5,887) [-6.09%]
May 2020: $104,595 (+13,969) [+15.41%]
Jun 2020: $129,092 (+24,297) [+23.42% ]
Jul 2020: $136,291 (+7,199) [+5.57% ]
Aug 2020: $156,793 (+20,502) [+15.04% ]
Sep 2020: $170,341 (+13,548) [+8.64%]

Year-to-date change: (+$69,775) [+69.38%]

Another big month, but the biggest news is all of my investments have fully recovered from February. It happened around mid-August and it's exciting to see them rising. Financially, this has been a great year and my preparations over the last decade have really put me in a position to take full advantage of the recovery. Over the next month or two I expect to start investing more money which should continue my nest egg's growth.

No idea what the future holds, but at the moment I'm feeling pretty good from a financial perspective. Everything else is a dumpster fire, through.

Updated numbers below. Market bounecd back and I may have bought my house at a good time (offer accepted in January, closed in June due to some seller delays), home values have been soaring on Long Island with the small inventory and people fleeing city life. There's a jump in the NW number around close time. Reason is that the way I've chosen to calculate NW with a mortgage is Zestimate of the home minus the mortgage amount (aka the equity I have in the house as valued by Zillow - this is how Personal Capital automatically does it). Zestimate is already 50k+ from the sale price so hence the jump in NW).

See you all in the next gauntlet page!

09/1/19 - $138k
10/1/19 - $145k
11/1/19 - $155k
12/1/19 - $166k
01/1/20 - $176k
02/1/20 - $197k (bonus)
03/1/20 - $201k
04/1/20 - $195k
05/1/20 - $215k
06/1/20 - $237k
07/1/20 - $286k
08/1/20 - $297k
09/1/20 - $345k

Markets were/are rough, but I moved out of my apartment at the end of march to move in with some family while my SO and I look for a house in the area. The savings from rent and quarantining. Happy to be able to WFH with a high income, fingers crossed I won'e be the next casualty in layoffs because work is slowwwwww. Would've like to be moving past the 250k mark soon, but honestly just happy to be healthy and employed these days.

I am using this challenge for my retirement savings.

--------------------
12/31/16     107k
12/31/17     137k
12/31/18     110k
12/31/19     204k
-------------------
03/31/20     170k
06/30/20     220k
09/01/20    252k

Was expecting to reach the milestone sometime next year. But when I checked today, I found my retirement accounts totaled $252k. I am not sure how long the markets will keep me graduated.

I truly don't know what's going on with the market but as I'm entering month 3 of unemployment due to COVID, I'll take it.
